    Default Luminaries

    Happy Easter Everyone.
Has anyone tried these or better, made luminaries similar to the link below ?

Of course something weather proof and sort of mother-in-law vehicle proof since going down a driveway is key. Plan is to run individual channels to about 96 of these with spare C7 strands I already have.

Also any experience with random "flicker" programming for something like this with a SS24 to simulate a real candle ?? i would love to hear what anyone has tried.

    Thanks for any feedback -

    Klyne

Shimmer it appears can only swing from 0-100 which appears kinda unnatural compared to a real candle, with random you can adjust intensity from a set swing say 50-75, and also leave them 100% saturated within that range. Wondering mostly what range (50-75% or ?) anyone might have tried to mimic this sucessfully. And even at 50ms would it still look odd ?

Well, I would have suggested coroplast, but I don't think they would hold up to the Mothers-in-law car. LOL
Where was I when all this took place?

This isn't a luminary, but I think it shows a similar effect to what you described in the following video at 0:55 - 1:00:

If you want to look at the corresponding sequence, it is in the File Library at:

IIRC, I used the random or shimmer effect, then used the Arithmetic Paste to set min and max levels - as stated in the other posts, it looks better if it only varies over a smaller range (I already had a section done with 0% - 100%, then didn't like it, so I just adjusted the min/max using the Arithmetic functions).

Once you get a small "random" section that looks good, you can copy and paste various lengths of it back into the sequence to make it longer.
