Simple Mega Tree

I just thought I would share my design of a simple mega tree

Parts needed

1 10' stick of 3/4 inch conduit emt
1 10' stick of 1/2 inch conduit emt
3" pvc cap
5" pvc cap
1/2 conduit to box connector screw on
ceiling mounting box
100 pack of hooks

So i have made two of these already. They are holding up great from the 30 mph gusts of wind and snow from last nights storm.

I have one 18' and one 25'

All I did was hammer in the 3/4 EMT about 2-4 foot into the ground. Than i wrapped a bunch of duck tape around the middle of the 1/2 EMT so it is just a little bit thicker than 3/4 then I place the 1/2 inside of the 3/4 wrapped more duck tape around that joint.

I took the ceiling box and connector and mounted it on top of the 1/2 EMT

Took the 3' pvc cap and drilled 32 holes around it and mounted 32 hooks into didn't screw them all the way in

Put the pvc cap on top of the box mounted on the emt screwed in the screws a bit more so they dig into the box and secure it even better

Then i mounted 64 strands of lights and voilà my own quick mega tree

I put the 5" pvc cap after all the lights are on to help cover the ends on the light strings not really needed I think since i also electrical taped all the plug ends also up there.
