Default Presents under the mega tree

    Howdy gang.

Sitting here bored once again and looking for some suggestions.

I'd like to place some presents/gifts under my Mega Tree and have them illuminated from the inside (Sequenced of course!)

Most commercial products I've seen are extremely "cheap" but very expensive..

Anyone have any suggestions on how to create some? PVC? Wire-Frame?

Not looking for luminaries, more along the lines of semi-transparent boxes with bows.

The box frames themselves are not the issue.. its what to cover wire or pvc frames with.

    Suggestions?
    Cheers!

Similar dilemma here, so I ask the artistic sewing one.
Her suggestion was ripstop or Taffeta on a timber dowel frame (similar to construction to box kites)

That is ion the too do list to try.

First thing that came to mind was acrylic sheet.. Either the stuff that is milky (not common), or taking clear sheet and scuffing it or painting it with that spray frost coating.

You could paint the ribbons on it (semi-transparent). Might look good; definitely more expensive than hardware cloth!

I have lighted presents around my mega tree. I made them out of wood frames and then covered the frames with red and green vynil talbe cloths I bought at a party store. The have ribbons (outdoor quality) with wiire in the ribbons that I got from a home improvement store. The presents are lighted using a few C9 bulbs. They turned out better than I expected.

My original thought was to use PVC and rope light, but I like the ones I made.

I've tried working with those -- they're extremely brittle and crack very easily. Hard to cut.

I'm doing the same thing. I have been making the ones in the PC link above. I think they look great, but they are not easy. I can't find an easy way to fasten the lights. I made one 12" with a bow and it took me about 4 hours and I used nearly 200 wire ties.

Since posted, I'm wondering anyone who has done them can suggest a easier way to fasten the lights to the hardware cloth.

    Hi:
Take a look at Coraplast: https://www.buz-line.com/showproduct...-plasticor-532

They have it "on sale" at what appears to be good prices.

I used the light panels in a motorhome. We had a closet that nothing would stay put in. Everytime we opened the door, the cups would fall out. I cut a piece of the panel that is made with rectangles the size of one of the shelves. I then cut the rectangles so the handles of the cups would fit down into them. Never lost a cup after that.
