    Hi sir!

Right now the plan is to finish the rev 2 software that adds the web page configuration, among other things, and get about a half-dozen boards out to folks who can test and report issues. If that all goes well, we'll probably offer some type of group buy in February.

I'll be posting a software status update soon, but so far so good.

I have a set of the Gemmy Lights that I once lost the remote for, but fortuniatly found later. How difficult or technical would it be to make the string usable with LOR or LSP?

Unknown - Some people indicated that these might have freerunning control within the nodes and the "data" line is more like a "sync/choose program" line. The issue is that no one with the correct debugging tools (oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer) seems to have any of these strands, and isn't likely to express interest in them since they're older/more limited. Get those two together and things can often be reverse engineered quite fast - look how fast the GE strands were REd.

Software is looking pretty good at this point. Complete re-write of the ASM including several new features. Significant additions to the web interface and command set. Full current doc file here:

I will touch base back with those who have expressed an interest in testing soon. If you don't hear from me in a day or 2, please PM me.

@jstjohnz: did you go with a microSD card to store your web pages, or EEPROM, or just in the code? That's something else I might end up learning about...

I use a 512kb (64KB) eeprom instead of the normal 256kb part. That gives me an extra 32KB of eeprom at my disposal. Right now I'm only using 2K of that to stroe the configuration pages. I might go to a 1mb eeprom in order to make it easier to implement firmware updates via the internet. That way there would be enough free space to hold a full copy of the new firmware image.

I wonder if you used a microSD card instead, if you bricked it, you could just pop in a new card (luckily I happen to keep my feathers numbered for just such an occaison...) and you're back in business. And I guess it should also still allow internet updates. Just like a removable emergency EEPROM. Not that I've done this myself (yet) but the more I think/write about it, the more it seems an interesting option.
