    Question 32/64 bit

Vixen requires a 64bit operating system. I have a netbook that I travel with that is 32 bit. My show computer is 64 bit. Can I use my netbook to sequence songs on vixen and then dl those sequences over to my show computer? Will everything work ok? This could be a stupid question but I dont know too much about computers. I just dont want to spend the time to sequence songs on the 32bit netbook if they will not work properly when I dl the sequences over to the 64bit show computer.

And how do I save the sequences in Vixen to a USB memory stick? How do I upload those sequences to my profile on the show computer?

    Thanks for helping!!

Vixen doesn't require 64 bit. The download from vixenlights will run on 32 bit OS's with no problem.

As for saving the sequences to a usb key, Vixen saves the Sequences in the Sequences folder and the audio in the audio folder. For Vixen 2.5 you can find these in the My Documents folder. For all older versions you can find these directly in the Vixen folder your running the program from.

Guess I typed to long.... ctmal beat me to it :-)

Vixen doesn't require a 64 bit operating system. It *works* fine with a 64bit system, but doesn't require it. I Sequence on both 32bit and 64 bit systems, Win XP and Win 7 pro, but no matter where I sequence, they all play on the show computer which is a 32 bit XP system.... so, you can use whatever you have to sequence and play... but they need not be the same.

You didn't mention which version of windows you were using, nor vixen version, but to save your sequences to a USB thumb drive, just copy your entire "Vixen" subdirectory that is located in your "My Documents" folder to the USB drive. This will copy all your profiles, sequences, config files, and audio files to the USB drive. Then, move those back to "My Documents/Vixen" on your show computer!
I assume you are probably running Windows Vista or Windows 7 since 64bit XP was not as prevalent to the home user... if that is the case, the complete path is c:\Users\XXXX\My Documents\Vixen where XXXX is the login name of the user you are logged into the computer with.

Hope that made sense!! Let us know if you need further assistance! -James

Thanks for the info!! That helps me out a lot! I have 9 more songs to sequence and will be out town for half of this month.
