    Default Next Years Plan

The inspiration : A game a guy at work got for his birthday call Zombie Shooting Gallery
    http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfare/bebd/

The IDEA: Turn my house into this game for Halloween!

In its simple form, some of those window skulls , with lights behind them , computer controlled and some form of light gun that shoots them. I am thinking something along the lines of the wii remote interface.

In its complex form actually adding a simple projector that can project the screaming victim or the hideous zombie onto the windows.

I got 7 facing windows so that should be good form some shooting.

Of course complete sound effects on loud speaker.

I think it would be fun to come up with the tech to do it... not to mention standing in front of my house handing a gun to kids to give them a whack at the zombies in my house.

You may want to try using some kind of infrared tracking such as a modded Wiimote and IR Receiver. The programming will won't be easy for a beginner but anything is possible if you really want to do it.

Well, the idea of using a wiimote was just to give it some coolness appeal, but realistically it isn't necessary. What I believe would be a good way to implement this ,is to use a set of IR Transmitters at each window each set to some specific frequency. There would need to be a telescope along with the detector on the gun , along with a micro controller to do some quick and dirty frequency detection every time the trigger button is pushed.
Then the detected frequency at that time is sent to the house computer to make the sound of a gunshot along with analysis of the hit detect. A detected frequency of nothing is simply a missed window.
Actually, I just realized that if I just turned on the freq out of the "window to hit" at that time, I only need to detect one frequency and then simply transmit back hit or miss signals to the base computer running "the game".

Sounds like fun, but watch out for the kid that comes up and says "That's OK, I've got my own..."

    - and then starts blasting your poor house -- and potentially your family.
