"Create profile from sequence" takes your current channel settings and plug-in usage to create a profile that you can apply to other sequences.

"Attach sequence to profile" takes a sequence that does not have a profile and attaches it one you created. So - what you might do is work on one sequence getting all of your channel/plug-in layout done, create a profile and then subsequent sequence creations would use the profile you created which saves time.

"Detach..." does just the opposite and the sequence will be left with the channel setup (or lack of) prior to attaching the profile.

"Flatten profile into sequence" is where you have a sequence with a profile attached and when you flatten it, it will have the same channel/plug-in settings as the profile but will no longer be attached to a profile. This is good for sharing your
sequences sometimes since you don't have to worry about a *.pro file.

Note that some folks create a master blank sequence and just start from copies of that as well.

    Okay thanks ;)

It is just because I am tired of going into the profile to switch off the perview just the watch the music for 2 - 3 sec

Is there a easy way to fix this ?

also I am not done with profile, color, name on the CH etc

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I've got a question about some of the above options.

If I were to use someone's .vix sequence that had, for instance 100 channels, and I attached that sequence to my profile that only had 75 channels, what happens to the extra 25 channels that were in the original borrowed sequence?

if its attached to your profile then only the channels in your profile will be seen.

I usually make a copy of my profile. One says Christmas with preview, and the other says Christmas no preview. I use the with preview on my computer I use for sequencing and the other on my show computer. But I can switch profiles on either computer if I need to.
