Looks great. I am trying to decide whether I will go with C7's or rope light. Where did you buy all of your rope light and cords? Did you use actual ends and cords made for the purpose or improvise? I would love to see some details of how you did it.

The ropelight was bought from BirdDog(Ebay) about 2 years ago.
I did not have any 3/8 inch blue, so it came from Menards.
the cords are leftovers stripped out of 100ct mini lights.
Here is my discussion on ropelight ends.
    http://talk.planetchristmas.com/show...ght=rope+light

This years changes are that the cap is formed out of just hot melt glue.
Hot melt on the cord end squeezes out when the heat shrink is heated.
I hope it holds the wires better, and seals the heat shrink end.

What are you going to use for rods? Fiberglass fence posts/rods?

128 ft of 1/4 cold rolled steel.
I tried 3/16 but it was just not stiff enough for me.

Fiberglass was not a cost/fabrication option for me.

The rope light probably weighs 35 pounds,
and the steel will weigh another 35 pounds.

I already have a plan how to raise that fully loaded hub 24ft straight up.
    And be secured rock solid.
And no ladders or hoists will be involved.

Have to either telescope straight up or pivot at the bottom, right? Tell me more.
