Has anyone ever used Devasys USB I2C/IO interface board with Vixen, or can someone help me get this board to work with vixen, with it's own software I can turn all 20 channels on/off manually but I would like to control the board Via vixen. It uses a USB port to connect to the computer and comes with it's own Dll. please if anyone could help that would be great.

This sounds quite possible for a competent programmer to do. However, we're pretty late in the season for this and if you don't have the programming skills necessary to write the plug-in, you might be out of luck since everyone's in the time crunch for their own shows.

Oh my... the readme isn't very encouraging:

DISCLAIMER:

This version of the software is very new, has not undergone significant testing, and may in fact contain serious bugs.

DeVaSys makes ABSOLUTELY NO CLAIM to the suitability of this software for any use, whatsoever, and in fact, we DO NOT RECOMMEND that anyone install it on any system. We will not accept ANY RESPONSIBILITY for any damages or losses you might encounter as a result of attempting to use this software.

WHO SHOULD INSTALL THIS UPGRADE:

Practically nobody.

If you don't have an existing plug and play issue with the old software, then there is absolutely no reason to risk installing this software.

Makinglightsdance, the .zip file you uploaded appears to contain the files that a programmer would need to send data to this I/O board, but there is no documentation about how to use the programming interface.

Hm... I'm looking at the mfr's website, and that readme is for a release that took place in 2003. That's not very encouraging.

On the other hand, the manufacturer's API looks reasonably complete and easy to use.

I think this would be a good addition to Vixen; it would provide an economical off-the-shelf driver board for those in the community who don't want to do their own building.

I *might* have time to look at this later this week. Unfortunately I can't make any promises.
