Hi -- welcome to DIYC!!!
Hmmmm... easy songs.... All I'd suggest as the "easiest" are any songs that have a pronounced beat to them. Any Christmas song can work fine -- just listen for the regular beat to it and key off that.
With 8 channels, you could do a lot -- think about where the lights will be that those channels will control. Example:
Garage
Window 1
Window 2
Front door
Front tree
Side bush 1
Side bush 2
Spotlight
Then imagine how they might blink to the beat of the song -- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, for example, is in a 4-beat sequence. Imagine the side bush lights blinking to each beat - left, right, left, right, etc. while the garage is blinking only on the first beat, and the front door on the 3rd beat.
Just ideas to get you going.... let your imagine run wild. There are no rules except two: (1) Be safe and (2) have fun!
Merry Christmas!

I have always liked this one and it is very easy to sync.

It depends on what you mean by "easy". If you mean easy as in getting a head-start on figuring out the beat or rhythm or other elements of a song, then there are many Vixen sequences posted in the forum that you could start with. If you are using a smaller number of channels, just copy and paste a few of the channels from one of the pre-built sequences into a new sequence, and add to it from there.

I have used the wave form plug-in attached to maybe 4 channels to give several of my songs a "start" then punch in more channels from there. I often go back to the "assign music" screen and tap out the rough parts. Then refine from there.
Thankfully, a lot of the traditional Christmas carols are very short, and you can get a song done fairly quickly using vixen tools. True not as impressive as slowing down .25 speed and painfully mapping each syllable or note of a tune, but it can get you running quick... lets see 5 days to Christmas, I'd take any shortcut available.
Good luck

Aloha Rocketcrazy07,
This is my second year and I too am running an 8 channel controller. A warning though, I don't have dimming capabilities. I'm currently running about 38 minutes of a show. I don't remember how many songs that is, but that's what is on my schedule. Send me a PM and I can hook you up with some sequences if you like. Most I have are okay, but as always you could trim them up. Check out this video of one I have from last year and let me know what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok4WNPikBZU

Hey Dave , not sure abut anybody else , but the sequence , for an 8 channel , non dimming was pretty good . ( and I mean that both ways --- the way you placed the lights on your windows , reminds me of a girlie face - the one with the swags is a cutesy face , whereas the one with the BOX eyes , is kinda like the woman saying "you did WHAT ?!" )

I like it :-D

Aloha Sky-Lights!
Thank you! I thought I was the only one that saw those faces :D. I'm trying to plan something for Halloween next year with those windows. Some evil eyes blinking and looking left to right. Hope I can pull it off. Thank you again for the great comments. Have a Safe and Happy New Year!
