Hi

Does anyone have a BOM and assembly instructions for a REN-T for Australian power?

Look at the instructions "wjohn" gives.

Thanks for the reply Wayne J, however these instructions still show an input of 120VAC, I need 230VAC

The only difference for you would be the transformer. All you need to find is a 230VAC -> 12VAC CenterTap transformer. All the remaining circuitry would work identically.

Thanks RavingLunatic, do you know where I can get full instructions of a 2 x REN64 setup including all connections?

hi,

if you havent allready pop into the livechat tonight after about 7pm. theres normally a couple of aussies hanging around in there that can probably answer most of the questions in the way that we do things different to those crazy yanks :p

short answer with the ren-t is unless you have the board made allready you might be better off looking at other options.

as for the ren-64. check the wiki out and go from there.

Wjohn can supply alot of the controller boards from here in vic, so it makes life alot easier than trying to get some of the boards from the states.

i hope that helps

Can a ZC created by H11AA1 by used on a proper REN?

It is quick and easy to build

yep it sure can, infact its my prefered way of doing it.

I just use one of the 24v AC plugpacks from a light string and hook it to the opto via 2 resistors as per the picture.

then all you need is a 5v power supply. allow 800ma-1amp per grinch/ren-c .

all the renards can take a rs232 connection in so there is no need to convert to rs485 unless the distance is huge.
