I saw this the other day and thought it was a pretty good deal.

looks like Stmicro and erleasing a development board with built in programmer and debug as well as some prototype space. Along with free software tools.

the best bit is its only $7

check http://www.st.com/mcu/contentid-130-113-STM8S_DISCOVERY.html

im sure it will be of interest to someone. I know i have ordered one and will probably order another soon.

I saw that, too. I've never used STMicro parts but at that price it's hard to say no.

this is totally wicked, getting these just because of the price!
So where do we?

Looks like you should ignore the stock numbers at ST Micro.
Mouser is reporting zero stock on a 13 week delay.
Digikey is reporting zero stock.

looks like they may have sold out of this batch allready,

2 days ago they had about 80+ at mouser and i think similar at digikey.

Also is cheap a problem phil?

maybe if a cheap micro development kit isnt your thing or if its to boring,

what about a wireless controller for testing your lights etc in a watch.

for about $50 you can get a http://wiki.msp430.com/index.php/EZ430-Chronos?DCMP=Chronos&HQS=Other+PR+chronoswiki-pr

which is a hackable wristwatch with wireless . could be an interesting way to change songs etc. that was one of my first idea's . im sure you can think of more
