Is there a simple explanation of what the Boolean paste functions do and what you would use then for.

I an trying to discover simpler way to fade out my sequences.

I would like to be able to just create a ramp on sequence of the appropriate length and do a past subtract.

Some of the Boolean functions gave interesting results but I could not predict what they would be or even why.

If its in there I have not found it yet.

OK. Boolean pastes work with... well, boolean logic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boolean_logic).

Try copying a fade out (for as long as you want the sequence to fade out), and use the AND paste to paste it on top of the end of your sequence.
This should fade out the sequence. (Yes, I have tried it.)

Generally that will work... BUT

Given an example with five cells at 100%, five cells at 80%, and five cells at 60% and then repeated for a total of 30 cells and a fade that also lasts 30 cells.
If you paste the fade over the base sequence with the AND function the results are not predictable.

The ramp within each 5 cell segment should exhibit a continuous fade but that is not what I am seeing.

Sorry to be a pain but I can not get this to work.
