Hi there
Im looking to build a system that does both switching and dimming but i need it to run at 240v. Any ideas where i can buy kits from or ready made stuff?
Im looking to run off RS232 or DMX. I have had a play with VIXEN and its great. Just need to get something to make my lights flash.
Any other advice would be great.
Many Thanks
Graham

I believe you can also run the Ren16(XMUS 16) at 240(with some changes). As far as I know the SS boards do not do 240 yet.

Right now your choices are the REN24, REN64, and REN16...ctmal is correct, the SS series does not do 240V in its current configuration. If you go the REN64 route you will need a 240V->6.3V transformer for the board power. We are working on finding a good source for this item as christmas-light is in need of one now. The REN24 works by changing jumper settings.
Where are you in the UK? I am currently working in Aberdeen.

Im in Hull in Yorkshire at the moment. Ive started to look into building my own DMX board with add-ons to extend its capabilities. Still having loads of problems getting my ENTTEC usb pro to work though. Is there a usb to dmx that is the easiest to use? my usb pro works with the ENTEC software but wont work with VIXEN.

I will be running a Renard 24 Coop soon - and they do work propery with 12 / 24 / 120 and 240v systems.

I changed the external bias resistor to the opto in the REN64 to run on 10VAC instead of 6.3.. this allowed me to use an off the shelf 1A 10VAC plug pack..

What resistor value did you use? I am thinking a 1k Ohm.... I have someone else asking the same question (they are in the EU).
Thanks,
Chris
