Basic wiring guide

Has anyone done a basic how-to with pics that would show newbies how a Renard controller (or other) actually connects to a string of lights? I have looked at the Wiki and other places but am not clear. I am sure it would help others as well.

Things can be very hard to find until you know exactly where to find it. :)
