My local (and only) HD has some 18gauge SPT1

A question to those in snowy climates.. is the SPT1 good for our seasonal outdoor use?

If so, I plan only to use it for light strings to SSR's. max length would be 4 feet.

Just want to double check before I go buy it.

Cheers

SPT1 will work fine. As with all wire that was meant for inside, it will get pretty stiff once you get below 0˚F (-18˚C) so you’ll want to get this down before everything freezes.

Forget about trying to yank this stuff out of any frozen water no matter how little it is. I wrecked the ones that I tried chiseling out the first year. I just leave the few that are stuck until everything melts now.

Thanks Ernie,

I only plan on using it as the short wiring from the ren16's to the vampire plugs that hang out the bottom of my bazooka tube. The smaller guage wire should allow me to have more wires exit fewer cable glands to try to keep things dry.
