where to start

Hi All

I live in australia want to get into computer control.
Software being Vixen
Hardware -
What would be the recommendation for the most used I guess
Looking at the Renard 16 so far but open to better suggestions
I can solder so no probs there, I haven't programmed pics before so will need some help there.

Is there a step by step guide somewhere to save asking to many questions that have probaly already been asked before.

Looking forward to some expert advice or some local knowledge from other aussies who are doing the same.

Welcome to DIYC

As you are in Austrailia, just stay away from the REN SS series now. They have not been modified for your voltage requirements. Start looking in the Wiki (look in the title bar) for HARDWARE. Read, Read, Read and Read until you are exhausted...then read some more lol! I have lots of mates down under and I am sure they will pop in to give you some pointers to specific items for use down under.

Once you get a solid question or two, join us in Flash Chat or post a message here. This is a great community and lots of folks are willing to help. The questions we will ask is how much you plan to spend and how your display is going to be laid out.
