View Full Version : SSR coop parts
Does anyone have any parts left over? or is anyone else looking to order parts? maybe we can do a small coop to get them a little cheaper
it looks to be right about 150 to order the parts for all 16 ssr boards from mouser at the time.

Josh,
I am also looking to buy parts for 16 of the SSROZ boards. You can count me in if we can get them cheaper...I am currently looking to purchasing my parts from Jameco. let me know the final price before purchasing.
Thanks,
Mychal

LOL. Yeah, maybe this could be done any volunteers? Sorry, just simply couldnt resist.
Josh, I'm deciding on this Lynx project of RJ's, its looking nice thusfar, I may go with that if I do then I'll have plenty of SSR parts, boards and assembled SSR's to offload.
not getting alot of interest on the coop, plus time is runnin short so it would be a hard one to pull off.
Jayson that would be great, i also was looking at the lynx but i have all my stuff already and dont see the need to run DMX and spend the money on it yet... not that i dont want to, but can't see the need

Been a while, but I bought a lot of my stuff at Arrow. They didn't have everything, but even with two shipping charges I still save around 30 I think for 16 ssr's

I bought everyting or could buy everything from Jameco using the Stemple alternitive parts for the Triac and Opto. They didn't have the fuse holder so I went with a panel mount fuse holder. I bought enough to do 25 SSR boards since that was where the best price breaks came(4 x 25 = 100).
140425 TRIAC,2N6071A,4A,200V 100 .25 25.00
277819 OPTO,MOC3023,DIP-6 100 .35 35.30
152355 CONNECTOR,.2",TERM BLK(3)VERT 25 .44 11.00
152347 CONNECTOR,.2",TERM BLK(2)VERT 25 .55 13.75
524461 AMP Modular Jacks, 8 PCB LO 25 .65 16.25
683091 @SOCKET,IC,6 PIN,1-390261-1, 110 .06 7.48
690689 @RES,CF,180 OHM,1/4 WATT,5%, 200 .01 2.00
690831 @RES,CF,750 OHM,1/4 WATT,5%, 200 .01 2.00
102040 @ FUSE,GMA FAST ACTING,.5A 25 .20 5.00
253631 LED (Not ordered because I had some) 25 0.113 2.85
102824 fuse holder (ordered from MPJA for .45) 25 0.85 21.25
So for 141.88/25 = 5.6752 for the parts not including the SSR board and some wire to make the fuse holders work.
I will have these built by Friday I hope.

The following two posts describe the two items in question. He used the Triacs last year. I am not sure if he used the Opto.

The terminal blocks are not the ones in the BOM for the SSR COOP but they will work fine.

The opto is an exact match from the mouser part in the co-op BOM, just using jameco since it was cheaper. Triac is a different part, 1/2 the amps then the mouser part listed in the co-op BOM.
This year I have already built out 32 SSOZ boards using these parts. I just ordered enough from Jameco to build 16 more. I found out that AMP RJ-45 socket is on back order until 10/30/2007.

I've got about 20-40 extra RJ45 sockets... PM me if you want to buy some.
Are you looking for top entry or side entry?
I want to hang onto my top entry sockets...
But I can part with my side entry.

Thanks for the heads up. I am not looking for any extra though. I have a bunch of top entry that I am going to sub for the side entry on the SSRoz layout. Top or side doesn't matter as I am using the POD enclosures. Also I am skipping the screw terminal and soldering 18 awg to the board directly. Many of my elements will have 4 channels, so each SSR board is dedicated to that element. I only need enough wire coming out of the POD to got about 1 foot.

Thats pretty much what I thought, even at half the amperage on the triac it should be more than sufficient. The fuse would blow if you ran that much juice through it, and if the fuse didn't blow the board would melt.
It was a great find on those parts you pointed out. I missed the Coop but that may be a good thing.

There are two things you might want to get if you don't have it. Wire to go from the fuse holder to the PCB and Shrink tubing to go over the connetions on the fuse holder. I have both. I'm planning on using enough wire to make them about 6 inches long and I'm going to drill a hole in my boxes so I can mount the fuse holder for easy access.
Otherwise it looks correct to me.
I'm soldering my boards together this afternoon.

does jameco sell the pcb mount fuse holder?
The only ones I see have the solder pins 90 degrees to the body and would not work well.
http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=102833
But that is just going by the images they have included.
or this is another option and pretty cheap also
http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=109330
Still not a pcb mount but it includes the wire and you don't need the heat shrink and uses the same fuse.
Hope that helps

not one to bring up dead threads but this one is kinda funny...
i built all my ssr's, couldnt finish the enclosures or anything due to money, so i sold them to Larry as he could use them
He gets them, is blowing fuses like crazy, trying to figure out why as it shouldnt be... When you posted the parts to buy, you put .5amp fuse not a 5amp fuse

I would have found this out if I was up and running but a medical issue has kept me from getting there. I guess I need to order some 5 amp fuses.
would be a good idea... hopefully you get where you can get your setup running
FYI all. You can get some 5A fuses that are the right size, A ,and V ratings from Walmart after Xmas sales. Make sure you get the smaller 5A and not the 7A ones.
