During startup of the vixen 2.1, I get the following error
Hill320.dll:
could not load type 'Vixen.IHardwarePlugin' from assembly 'Vixen, Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=Neutral, PublicKeyToken=Null
Any comments on what I am doing wrong will be welcome.
I am running this on a window XP platform, do I need to change to something else?

I figured out that I placed the Hill320.dll file in the 'Addins' folder instead of the output folder.
But when I want to configure the outputs for the Hill320, it does not show up as an output option. Am I missing something?
The hill320.dll should have already been instaled into vixen 2.1 already
You may have installed a older file (one from version 1.1 )
I have checked my 2.1 and the 320 plugin seems fine.
Try reinstalling vixen 2.1 into a new folder and see if it works.
If not let us know not to many people use the 320 .

Thanks for the input
I installed Vixen 2.1 on a new system and have the same problem. Once I try to configure the output, Hill320 does not show up.
Should I be using a different plugin? any recommendations?
and is there a reason hill320 is not used much?
Thanks

The Hill320 is a marvelous design. However, it is now a bit long in the tooth. There many other options out there that give you more features. There is nothing wrong with it.

Thanks again for the input
Because I am still a newbee, I am still not sure what output plugin to use. Can you make any recommendation, and how do I find the wiring pin out to use for the option that I pick?
I am trying to connect this to an Allen Bradley PLC5 controller that I have laying around, I have both TTL and 24VDC types of inputs and can decode the input data using the code in the PLC. The main reason I was going to use the Hill320, it was the most available online information and seems very straight forward to me. But again any recommendations are welcome.

okay....just curious.
Why use a extermely high end PLC to something a $100 cheap computer can do?

Because I have it laying around collecting dust.
No other reason, other than that is what I do for a living.
Thought I would put it to use instead of just letting it sit there.
What systems are you using? and would it be easier to use something like you are using?
By the way, I am still having the same problem with Vixen 2.1 in the fact that it will not see the plugin Hill320 for output control, am I doing something wrong?

Not sure what an Allen Bradley PLC5 is but it does not sound like you are using the Hill320 controller. I do not know what plugin to utilize for a Allen Bradley PLC5. Maybe a switch to some more common hardware would do the trick.
