View Full Version : SSRez Group buy
Looking at interest in a group by for the SSRez.
http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7172
It will be sold with parts, PCBs, & Enclosres in groups of 16, that is the amount that fits the large flate rate box. This is the one I am going with for my Firegod boards.
The best all around price break is at 25 groups of 16.
Post if interested.

I would be interested in three sets. Do you have a target price range yet?

not yet waiting on PCB prices
Right now, for an approx. cost of 25 groups of 16 SSR's (64 channels), the cost looks to be around $210 shipped, still waiting to verify the PCB price, but I took a guess and put it in there, The cost to buy 16 sets only, it looks to be about $300 shipped, once we know the PCB price, than I will know the correct cost. I have it at $3.29 vs $4.69 a channel right now.
400 channels is the point we need to get to for the discount, that is 25 sets of 16.
This is the PCB, Parts, Enclosure and shipping.

Given the speed which the last SSR Group buy went, I would have expected to see a lot more interest.
If you a hesitant to join in...please let us know why. We have setup the numbers based on the systems out there. The only "hole" that I know is the REN24LV which needs 6 instead of 16.
Please speak up! :)
Thanks,
Chris

any reason why we couldnt order smaller groups?
i know i would be more interested in groups of 4 boards. $210 sets are rather expensive for some of us.
I can do smaller groups if need be, it was just based on as many enclosures that can fit in the large flat rate box. I would need to get the smaller boxes and see what fits in each, no big deal. Shipping cost was the main reason for the way it was planned.

ah cool,
with regards to the enclosures, i wonder if they woukd stack better if they were pulled apart and the tops and bottoms stacked inside themselves.
if anyone has a couple i would be interested in knowing.
regards
Peter
I have 9 of them already, I will check it out.
Okay, I am getting a lot of questions about this group buy. There are rules in the forum about the limit of orders per group buy. So that is one issue.
Second, we need to get 400 parts orders to get the price break that makes it worth while. Once the final price is set per PCB, parts, mounting screws, and enclosure is set, I will post the price based on the 400 amount. I will fgure out how many fit into each flat rate box, and shipping will be based on that, (example.. upto 6 kits fit the 10.35 box, up to 24 fit the $13.50 box.....)
One thing I will need to know is if it is for a Firegod set up or a REN, there is one part different on them, and the correct one will be sent with your order.
We may also offer the blank PCB, too. but ONLY if 400 of the other are ordered first. This time there will be the option to pay using PayPal, those fees will be added to your cost. I will not take the paypal, Chris (g2ktcf) offered to do that. I will take Money Orders to help save those fees for people wanting to go that route.
If this seems better to everyone, let me know. I am willing to do whatever, if it saves the group some money.

I have addressed the unit limit with Macrosill already. I have his approval for up to 450 units but the 50 participant limit still holds. This is a test project since the last SSR group buy lasted a whole 9 hours. Since I travel so much, Lou offered to handle the details.

I have 2 REN24LV boards that I dont know yet what I plan on doing with them.. I had thought of doing LED "Strobes" with them. Ill keep an eye out but I would probably be interested in a set for at least 1 or maybe a few extras I figure I can always mix and match SSR's and LED stuff with that board.
Count me in for 1 REN16LV set (6 boards) for sure.

I am definatly interested - I think I'll need ~10 or so. Only issue is funding!

it did not matter, it still looks like it is 16 to a box. The post office is out of the smaller box, when they get them in, I will see the count on those too.

Would purchasing the PCB only be an option? I have all the parts in stock including the enclosures. I have a tendency to purchase in large quantities and just stock until needed.

Yes, but only if we hit the 400 parts first. That is what makes this discount work for everything else.
Thanks

I would be interested in three sets for HELIX... thanks
I can also get a price for the power cords. The same works with these, the more we get, the better the price. You would need 4 female and 1 male each. They have 3' long wires. Is there interest in adding these?
We are going to go the route of you can order as many as you would like, no minimum. We just still have to hit the 400 mark though.

Just to be clear "3 sets of ?" or 3 SSRez. We were originally offering them in sets of 4, 6 and 8 units to keep the shipping cost down to a minimum.
Thanks,
Chris

I am sorry, I must have misread the original post. I would be interested in three sets of 16 (I assumed three sets of 16 = 192 channels) or how ever the math workout to be 192 channels for HELIX... Thanks

Isnt the Helix 128 Channels Thus 2 sets of 16?
True, but, if you ordered more than one Helix (guilty) you'll need more than 2 sets. Like me, if I decide to get all of mine running this year, I'd need six sets to complete my systems. (actually only 4 since I already have SSR's for 128 channels.
I'm not buying any SSR's right now since I'm already into it this year for over $400 and my wife will kill me f I go any deeper... I'll just have to deal with 128 channels for this year, unless I win the lottery...

The Helix is 128 channels and would require 2 sets of 16, but esemanteiv ordered two Helix systems so he could use up to 4 sets.
okay, I got the price for the plugs. The way I figured it out, it will cost the same or maybe a little more to buy them on sale at your local store. After you add the shipping from them, the price is about the same.

Lou - depending in the price - I'd be interested in 32 sets..... (egads) but - I'm going to need the channels!
