David (aka ukewarrior) used a Xmas Tyme Font/dingbat for his Vixen symbol. I gotta say I was impressed cause a lot of PCB packages don't let you import small graphics.
My daughter had to design her own font last term for her uni course. It occurs to me if there is enough interest I can ask her to design us a font that has our own symbols like the standard Vixen logo.

Let me know if this is of interest and what else can be included. I won't be copying other fonts, but if you want some specials done or changes to existing one they may also be included.

Cheers
Matt

I use Eagle to design my PC boards and want to use the Vixen font, but have not yet had a chance to create it.

From what I gather, with Eagle you can't import graphics, so it would have to be drawn as a library object.

Has anyone found a work around for this yet?

I have the same issue in FreePCB. The only option is to use a font or make another gerber image and overlay. I am VERY interested in this as well!

Thanks,
Chris

I would like to have just the Christmas Tree symbol and one of Vixen that is on the SSRneon (pretty cool that one).

I think the problem that you will run into is in the scalability of the font. Several different pt values may have to be made.

Thanks,
Chris

No BOW !!???!!:o

How can you tell it from a regular reindeer?

Remember, there is no such thing as a 'regular' vixen logo.
Just a defacto standard.

We shouldn't frown on jazzing the silkscreens up a bit from time to time:razz:

I did not know about Fontsy before today. They have a ton of nice Christmas fonts. I could see me using many of them for graphics on my LEDTriks.

That's the spirit!

Silkscreen costs the same no matter how much or little you specify.

Go Crazy!!!

Chris,
my hat is off to you. you started it all!!!
By standard Vixen logo, I mean the one on downloaded from Vixenlight.com.

I gave my daughter the good news last night. looks like it is going to be a joint effort as her uni course is pretty full on at present.

I will keep you posted.

Let me know - I am using Altium Designer - and it will allow me to paste a logo into it and then I can export as a DXF or a Gerber file

A gerber of the "defacto" Vixen logo would be nice ;)

I think I can get it imported into Eagle in Gerber format.

Where is the font for the tree? That is one of the two that I am extremely interested in.

Frank,

That would be great for the Vixen Logos. I can overlay Gerber files with the free Gerber viewer that I use.

Thanks,
Chris
