We had a great subscription to the first COOP, and with at least 15 PCBs on order already, I am kicking off the 2nd COOP for a Portaflood PCB, the design is based on the one by Matt Edwards, and detailed in the Hardware Forum.
What is a Portaflood? Matt has put together a design for a three channel LED portaflood. The board is designed to operate from 24 VDC and the total power rating would be ~ 13 Watts per board. The board is laid out for 5mm LEDs. You could set the board up as a Single Colour Flood, or a RGB flood, based on the type of LEDs fitted.
The board size is 5755 mils by 4235 mils. (146.2mm x 107.6mm) Doubled sided, plated, silkscreened and solder masked. The Mounting holes are designed for M3 screws. 4-40 screws should be OK.
The case is a 500W Porta Flood light. check out Matt's album for photos. He ditched the inwards and replaced the plate glass with 5mm PolyCarb. The LEDs are configure in 3 separate groups.
Each group 9 string of 6 LEDs. that is a total of 162 LEDs The resistors are to set the current only. for single color I use 20mA. For RGB you may need to Adjust them so Full On is white.
