I have been out of it for a while,

what chips are being used in the grinch now still the Allegro or something new

and can we still get "samples" for free?

if not where can i get them?

i have seen a post fro Digi-key but not used them (im not an electronic knowledgeable) if this is a good place to get them what is there site address?

Scott,
the Allegros are still valid chips for the Grinch and possibly the best because they can handle a lower parallel port voltage than the MBI.

Others that work are
MBI5027 IC's from King Electronics.
STP16CP05B1R available over the counter in Aus.

well i made the switch to LOR for my music part of the show 48 channels (the help I so desperately need with the computer end of things is now local and available for just a swap of my building abilities)

what im now doing is getting back into DIY for simple chasing seq (since it is so much less expensive than LOR) for a few ideas i have. And they will just be running in a continous loop.

if you want more details PM me and i will talk you ear off, dont want to clutter up teh forms.
