I am just starting to get setup to use Vixen for controlling lights with an Olsen 595 controller. Can anybody give me a suggestion for a song/songs that is relatively easy to set up a sequence to for a noobi?

davdue,
Check out the Sequencing forum:

There is a topic there about music.

There is also a section in the WIKI for tips on sequencing

Dave,
Those are all good tips in the Wiki and the other posts. But I interprete your question to be that you are looking for an easy and short song to cut your teeth on. I would recommend you look at a couple of cuts on "I'll be home for Christmas". The version I found is less than 2 minutes long, and the second minute is a near duplicate of the first minute. I just got done with it - still took about 2 - 3 hours of effort though.
I haven't checked it yet, but there have to be some pretty clean versions of Rudolf and Frosty. I will probably do those next for my kids (at least that is my story - and I am sticking to it!!!).

Thanks Steve. That is exactly what I was looking for. Although I did get some good songs downloaded from the website mentioned in the sequence, music forum. In fact I downloaded Frosty and thought that might be a good on.

O Come all ye Faithful?
Am getting burned out on that particular piece.
Meanwhile did some work on other sequences.
Am using Vixen 1.1.11 so 2.0 files won't work as I understand it.
Do NOT include the muic file as the mods could get into hot water.
Thanks in advance
If anyone wants an all acoutstic version of let it snow... check out the " A Very special Christmas albums, its on the acoustic one... it sounds like it could be very good, but will take some time

I used "Carol Of The Drunks-Bob Rivers" for my closing sequence, just pecking at the keyboard, no fine tuning, it'll just get the point across of "don't drink and drive" at the end of my program, especially around the holidays with the egg nog and all.
I did "White Christmas" by Sinatra, for my first sequence... easy, slow, fun.
I think you can get the music from ilovewavs.com

xmus,
nice effect with the trees
Thanks, I have 24 channels dedicated just to the stars/snowflakes (single C7 bulbs). I also have 15 "welcome candles" in the windows (same thing, single C7 bulbs). It sure is a lot of fun to have that many channels, and use so little power... I was pleasantly surprised that a single C7 bulb is plenty bright enough to be used individually as an effect.
