Hi, I am planning on building 3 more of the Ren 24 LV controllers for this year, and am wondering if there is any interest in a group buy. The parts for the controllers cost approx. $35.00 each. The price drops to approx. $25.00 if 30 are ordered. The bigger expense with this type of controller is the external SSR's, but it is always nice if can save a buck or two.
Please post in this thread if your are interested in participating in a group buy.
Thanks,
Randy

Does the SSROZ work with these? If so I'd be in for 1.

Yes, the SSROZ will work with this board. It will also work with DC SSR's.

I would be in for 6 of them as long as Frank does another Ren24LV coop for the PCB too. Would you be doing them with Pics and will they be programmed or not? Thanks

Yes, PIC's would be included (group buy rules require it). I can program them for anyone that needs it done. But as has been recommended repeatedly, everyone using any Renard system should have their own PIC Programmer.

Thought I would need 6 but I really need 8. I am really making some serious upgrades for next year.

For those that are not familiar with this board, (the board is smaller and will fit in a smaller enclosure) it has the guts of the Ren 24, but uses outboard SSR's like a Grinch, 595 or Ren 64. Very useful if you need outboard SSR's (either AC or DC), but maybe don't need 64 channels of them, or don't want Cat 5 running all over your yard. They can also drive individual LED's so you can custom make your own strobe effects!!
We need to get to about 20 sets to realize any major savings..............looks like about 12 right now, so, anybody else interested????????

I would take 2.

I hadnt been following this thread. I thought it was a group buy interest for the PCB not parts. Maybe change the topic to Parts group buy and might generate more interest.

I already have the boards in the group buy that Frank is doing.

We now have interest for about 17 sets. Just a few more and we will be where we need to be to maximize savings............(30 sets)

I would probably be in for 1 or 2...
How much would you think the postage would be to Aus??

I'm sorry, I really have no idea. Maybe one of our friends from down under can give you some info on shipping from the US.

As long as all the parts would fit in a large flat rate box. It would cost around 52usd. If it all fits in a small flat rate box it would be even less.

I just purchased 4 of franks boards, so I'd like to get 4 parts kits to go with them.

We're up to about 23 parts kits. Looks like we're getting close..............

This thread has been open for over 2 weeks, and we haven't generated enough interest to get to the point where the savings are worthwhile. (was only going to be about $9.00 per controller at best). IMO there is no point in continuing this thread, and it can be closed.
Thanks to those that resonded.
