installing vixen

I have a question, probably way simple, but I can't figure it out.

I can't install vixen, everytime I try it wants me to choose a program to open it with after I download the program, I don't know what to choose. I have loaded the microsoft .net framework 2.0 that it says you must load first, and still nothing.

Please help me figure out what I am missing, I am trying ot load this onto a
dell with windows 2000, service pack 3

I finally figured it out, needed to unzip. WHO KNEW????

I have the same problem. I am not very computer savy. How do you unzip.

Hi terry,
Find the file that you downloaded, then "right click" on the zip file and then go to "extract all" follow the steps as they apear in the wizard, then open the folder and find the file called Prepare.exe, delete this file first, then click on Vixen.exe file, (which will have the vixen logo), and vixen will open.

Depending on the version of windows you have installed, you may need a unzip program to unzip the file. I don't remember what unzip program I used, but I google searched for "free unzip program" and used one that popped up. I believe windows XP and later come factory installed with an unzip program. I have 2 computers with vixen on them, 1 has windows XP and the other (the older one that is actually going to run the show) has windows 2000, it needed the unzip program. GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the advice guys. After much frustration I asked my son to help me and quick as a flash, problem solved.

I am extracting the files and when it comes to starting the program it goes to a report error mess to microsoft.... then shuts down.

The file s seem to be extracted on my puter but the program will not open

I tried deleting the prepare file 1st and still nothing...
as was noted on this thread.


Any help
