Would anybody be interested in another Mini RDS Encoder (http://pira.cz/rds/show.asp?art=minirds_encoder) group buy?
If there is enough interest, I would consider doing one this year. They ended up being $33 including shipping last year (but at today's $/€ exchange rate they would be about $4.50 less). I haven't checked with the supplier yet, but I'm assuming that the price would be similar.
Here is a link to last year's group buy: http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3697

May end up being even cheaper due to the value of the euro/dollar.
I want on of the RDS pro's myself.

This sounds cool and i think i would be interested in this but have a few questions. I read that link for it and to me it looks like for the radios that have the feature that shows information for let say 98.9 i can put my christmas show? Can you please explain to me how and what you do with this Traffic Program, Traffic Announcement and Music/Speech flags. sorry if this is a dumb question but for the guys here that dont know this might get some more interested in this. thanks

We need at least 10 to get any significant price break. The more the better though because the shipping from the Czech Republic was a bit high (about $50 last year). The shipping is the same no matter how many are ordered.

If these can be used with a modded Belkin I would be in for one.
Does anyone know how to make this work with a belkin II.

It will work with the Belkin units. "jensen1080" hooked one up last season.
You can see that setup in post #34 here (http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3633&page=4).
You might wanna shoot him a PM for more instructions.

Gents,
I have been informed that I am being sent to Aberdeen Scottland for my next project. Would it help the shipping cost to have them sent there? I could then bring them back in my carry on.
Just a thought!

ChrisAn interesting offer. Shipping to the EU would definitely be cheaper. I think it really depends on how many we get as to whether it would be worth doing it this way. For last year's buy, we were guessing there were going to be 10-15 but we ended up with over 40. If there are enough participants, the shipping to the US becomes less of an issue. Not to mention with the declining Euro the shipping costs will be less too.
When will you be in Scotland?

There appears that there is enough interest. I have requested a quote and a check of availability from Pira. as soon as I get a response from them I will start the group buy. Just based on last year's price and the current exchange rate, I'm guessing that the price is probably going to be around $24-$25. Not bad, me thinks.
