How many of you are keeping logs of your various data? Power usage, cars/hour, photoresistor in the front yard...I can think of tons of fun ways to make graphs. Any ideas?

I've been keeping track of how much I spend on parts and supplies, so I can be thinking up justification arguments before the wife sees the credit card statement. :)

Well, it's either that or I have to take care of all the paperwork and actually pay them. ;)

That's a thought. Or, I guess I could go on-line and pay off the big ones before she sees them. :)

I think I must have spread them out enough during the year - not much pain, just rolling of the eyes (many times). Those plain brown boxes from Mouser et al also seem to downplay what's inside. I think the trick is to get the mail-order stuff done earlier in the year, so it's all bought before the Radar goes up closer to Christmas.
For the after-Christmas deals, I try to bring it in when she's not home, but it doesn't always work. I drove back and forth to work with a van-load one week, as I just didn't quite get around to unloading it earlier. I got caught a couple of times, though, so then I made a point of how much I *saved* each time I brought in a load of after-Christmas clearance goods.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make light of your original question... I actually did keep track of some data such as time and $, mainly so I would have a better idea of how it would go next time. As with several others, I severely under-estimated the amount of effort for some aspects of the display.
I also used the Watt-Meter plug-in in Vixen to estimate power usage, and it came out pretty close (just got the power statement last week).
I couldn't figure out a good way to track cars/hour accurately - I didn't want to be looking out the window all the time. Maybe some kind of time-lapse video or something would have worked.
