downloaded vixen 1.1.11 onto a USB flash drive = works with out any errors
copied files onto main computer HDD in a new folder, pined to start menue
get same errors as before.
Question is can my Christmas computer using the USB flash drive run Vixen w/ a 595 and a Renard64 connected to it?
Am going to delete the latest Vixen, reinstall it and try again.

I deleted all Vixen files
Copied from flashdrive onto HDD
Vixen works without errors
IF I pin to start menue I get error messages
Dosn't make sense.
Tried several different ways but as soon as I pin to start menue I get ALL the error messages.
OH well but WHY?? K.C.
Hey I will send you a bill for the asprin and bottle of Jack Daniels--LOL

What are these error messages you are getting?

Try right clicking on it and creating a shortcut, then pin the shortcut to your start menu

the error messages appear It seems like (after using flashdrive) when I "pin to start menu"
didn't try a shortcut then pin to menu.
It works now I hope it continues to work.
Maybe someting in the vixen code that dosn't transfer some oif the needed files when pinning to start menu????

It seems as though all your errors are related to the IDMX file. Now what that is I have no idea but I suspect it is missing.
Check for that file. Navigate to your Vixen 2.0 folder, then the Plug Ins folder, then the Output foldes and inside there there should be a file named IDMX.dll. If it is not there then I will send you a copy of it.
I am not understanding what you mean by "pin to start menu".

Doug, instead of creating a shortcut, have you just tried navigating to the Vixen directory in File Explorer and double clicking on Vixen.exe?
I don’t typically create a shortcut because the drive letter changes from one computer to the next. Maybe it has something to do with the way you’re creating the shortcut.

Am using vixen 1.1.11
I use win explorer, open the folder with vixen in it
in the folder I get the vixen reindeer. left click once to highlight
right click to bring up a menu
in that menu is a PIN TO START option. This will put the vixen short cut on your start menu
I can run Vixen w/o errors from the folder w/ vixen (before I pin to start.
If I have vixen in the start menu I will get all the errors mentioned reguardless if I open vixen from the folder or start menu.
It is easier to open from start menu but the errors I don't like so am either going to use the flash drive or just open vixen from the folder.
Oh well!!
curious stuff.

That’s interesting… I never knew about that feature. It does seem to function just fine on my PC though.
Here’s something to try. Right click on Vixen.exe, choose ‘Create Shortcut’. Now pin the shortcut.
The original method seems to provide a direct link to the file, while the shortcut method also provides the path.

I created short cut then vixen ran fine
I then pined to start menu ---BAM!! error messages again.
I tried removing from start menu but it still has errors, even when I open from within the folder
Need to delete then reload and leave alone.
