Ive been looking at this setup
http://computerchristmas.com/christmas/link-how_to/HowToId-57/Making_an_Olsen_595

only problem is , the people i want to make the board want a express pcb file. Does anyone have this 595 design as a express pcb file. i would like to alter it a bit as im only going to be switching dc with the outputs and want to integrate transistor switches.

in 4 weeks time ill post what me and my dad (for his houses Christmas lights display) have been working on..

im also starting tonight to redo it in expresspcb from the picture.

Why recreate the wheel, in the buy/sell/trade section macrosill has listed 3 with parts for $40 each un assenbled and some other items also.

Additionally, if those are gone, wjohn in the Grinch forum has Grinch boards available.

i have all the parts and a prototype working on breadboard..

im just interested in making my own design pcbs and will of course release them when working..

Im also in hobart , tasmania. So i would rather get stuff done locally if possible , or at least in australia

so the coop board i take it , is not freeware

i have msged wjohn about 2 boards.

but i would really like to intergrate my transistor switchs into the pcb and get a few made.

im using the transistors to only switch leds in a countdown clock. a decent sized one i must say.

ive got a custom vb program already done that countdowns down to any date/time and outputs it in 10 figures in this format , DD : HH : MM : SS

i will be integrating this into a vixen plugin so its easy to use with any controller.. Not just a 595

stripey_horse,

Th URL for Sean's ExpressPCB file is in this post on Computer Christmas:
http://computerchristmas.com/ForumBoard/read.php?f=4&i=10453&t=10441

If you search that forum a bit (not a pleasant thing to do, I'll warn you) I think Brian posted the version of the board he used for the COOP.
