What would need to be done to run some C9's. Could I just replace the Triac with a larger one? Do the traces need to be increased? I also have some 680 Ohm resistors. Can I use them instead of the 750 Ohm. Why was the change made? Thanks, Jerome

You can run one string of C9's per channel on the coop boards as is. I have two sets I will be using this year.

Are you looking to run individual C9 bulbs or an entire set. Actually either way it does not matter if you are using the coop ssr boards. An individual C9 bulb draws about 7 watts. A standard string of 25 C9s draws about 175 watts or just under 1.5 amps. If you want to run 2 or three sets of 25 ct C9s then you would need to run 2 or 3 channels, 1 set per channel or get higher rated ssrs. The limiting factor of the coop ssrs is not the triac but the traces.

Thanks for the help. That was the information I was looking for. I have alot of C9's from years past. I stopped using them when I go the electric bill. I would like to use some of them this year. It would be nice to plug 3 in a row, but 1 will do. If things go well this year I should have enough channels.
Thanks, Jerome
p.s. any idea about the resistors?

I use quite a few C9's and I plug 2 in a row and never had an issue yet. I do have a heat sink on my triacs.

Just leave everything as is, it will work fine.
