play only the selected region

i wish i could mark a section for playback like maybe 7 seconds and have this marked section remembered while i use different cursor selections to edit the sequence.

is there any workaround?

Not sure if this will help you at all, but they can be useful shortcuts:

Ctrl-Shift-# - Using one of the numeric keys at the top of the keyboard, this will create bookmarks in the event grid at the left-most extent of the current selection. There are not any visual indication of the bookmarks. Up to 10 (1 through 0) can be set.

Ctrl-# - Recalls the bookmark previously set, if any. The bookmarked location becomes the left-most point of the current view.

thanks deplanche, but i can set my horizontal zoom to keep the segment i'm working on in the current display. i guess i just want a separate mark for the timeline than the cursor select.

i now have a whole 13 minutes experience with vixen, so i'm certainly no authority on what it needs. does anyone else agree with the need, and does this forum work as a feature request for kc?
