View Full Version : Shortening Sequences after they are done

I need to shorten up the delay after the end of some songs in my show. I have a few songs that have 10-20 seconds of run time left after the end of the music. Is there a way to remove these seconds from the sequence?

Just click the box at the top where it shows the length of the sequence. Set it to what you desire and hit enter, then save. Just keep in mind, you cannot go any shorter than the audio associated with the sequence. If you try, Vixen will tell you.

Will this work if I uncheck the box that says make sure sequence is as long as song?

You cannot make it any shorter than the audio, no matter what. If the audio is too long, then you have to edit the audio and re-attach it.

Thanks Wayne. I will have to figure out how to shorten the audio. I may have to swap the music over to my Mac to do that.

Most of us use Audacity for audio editing.

Easy to use and FREE

Download Audacity. It's Free. Load the song into it. Trim off dead air at the end and resave it as an mp3. Now you can take the old sound track out of your sequence and put the new one in. Vixen will automatically shorten your sequence to match the sound file

I did that with some songs I really wanted but were way to long. Just faded them out and resaved the file.

Just remember to go into Vixen and actually look at the end of the file to make sure you are not just chopping a sequence in the middle.
