Will this DMX thing work with Vixen?

If I understand right it is the same thing as http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&prod=70303&show=description&name=opendmxusb except without the box.
This is the open and the current plugin for dmx supports it. I am currently testing the plugin for the DMX PRO from them. I can tell you I have had some issues with the timing from the one you are looking at. The pro has the hardware on the unit to generate the DMX and is worth in my opion every single dollar more. In fact I would make you a deal on one of the Opens in the case if you want one. The plugin is about ready to be released or at least that will be my recommendation to KC once I test it with some more channels and all the high number channels in the coming weeks. It has only a few bugs that turns out are in the renard plugin also so its something hes already fixing. at any rate its minor issues. I can tell you the Pro is rock solid and runs much faster refresh so you can run much lower event timings. Just a suggestion from someone who has tried both on vixen. In fact most likely the only person to have tried both on vixen. I know its more money but in the long run I believe it will be worth it.

Those two items are the same thing, and it is supported in Vixen.
The Open is a great entry level unit. When I approached KC about adding a DMX dongle to Vixen I chose this one because it was inexpensive to purchase and geared toward the DIYer (build one yourself). If you are looking for basic DMX control infrequently during the year this is a good fit. The downside is this unit does rely on the PC to produce the DMX packets. In theory very high CPU usage could affect its functionality. I have an Open that I built and have yet to see any issues with it.
The Pro is an excellent product. This is geared toward folks who aren't interested in building one themselves and are interested in flawless communication. The unit has an onboard processor that generates DMX as opposed to relying on the PC. Beyond DMX the Pro also supports RDM, which we aren't using but may in the future. The Pro is more expensive but if you are planning on using it frequently, wants rock solid DMX, and plan to utilize the "pro" features it is worth it.
In the end its a matter of taste, do you want a "basic commuter car" or a "luxury automobile" you make the call.
I've been tempted on a couple of occasions to buy a pro, for me the price tag is what stops me. I wish they would make to pro open also. ;)
