I got the last piece up yesterday afternoon, the Bethlehem Star. I'd been dreading it as it involved manipulating something rather bulky on the roof.

After thinking about it for about a month while I was putting other items up, I arrived at my plan of attack.

Ended up being a piece of cake! While somewhat bulky, it's very light.

It's made of 3/4" PVC, chicken wire, rope light, and zip ties. No sand bags. It zip ties to my ridge vents.

We had 20-30 mph gusts today. It held up perfectly!

Nice star Bob. Looks great at night! Your video quality is nice, just need a tripod or bag of beans to set the camera on. I'm fighting to get decent video from two different cameras right now.

Don't knock the commentary. It is great she is excited. That is the best part of this all. My wife was ho hum about the whole thing until the first night I fired it up. Now we are waiting for the 29th to arrive to kick things off and she is asking why I just don't turn them on early. She enjoys it more than she wants to admit. :)

Thanks for the wonderful comments, guys!

Tony, I picked up a tri-pod yesterday, so I'll need to shoot it again. I'm also trial and erroring camara settings, so I feel your pain!

And you're right, it gives a warm fuzzy to have brought the child out in my wife!

I love the background comments!!!

It makes it all the more real. Don't edit them out and if you reshoot, keep that cheerful person around.

Very nicely done.

Share the settings for night shots with the camera when you've got it all perfected!

I was out filming this evening. Had pretty good settings, I think. Then this Crew Cab pulled up in the middle of 'Wizards' and parked right in between the camera and the display.....

I was thinking about cursing.....then, in the dark, I saw them start to dance to the tune....

All was then good......

I'm gonna have to get the video done as early as possible....

PS: Current settings: Manual focus, set at infinity. Set for 'Outdoors'. Others are pending... I hooked up my walkman to the camera for the music this time. Probably will work the best, we'll see!

Bob, your star is fantastic. Excellent form and use of the form. You've created something that truely is inspiring.

And the commentary was perfect as the colors and use of them is extremely well balanced.

Very Very Nice!!!

I agree with Tonypgst and others ... do not edit out your wife's comments.

When I showed you video to my wife, she wanted to know how many lights you have up ..... then she heard your wife's comments and had to leave the room!

Nice Job!

so just how many lights do you have up?

Cburg, That's about 50k lights. 2/3rds are LED.
