I am looking to pick up a new computer to run Vixen and wonder what hardware/os it works with?
Has anyone tested it with Vista Home Basic? I found a new Compaq for $200 but it has Vista already installed. I am hoping to run about 200 Renard channels on 3 USB ports. I have an old spare 400mhz W2K, but do not think that will be fast enough to run the show.
Comments?

Personally, I'm weary of W2k from personal and professional experience. I think someone has run it on Vista without issue, so you should be clear there.
Well, you should be fine to run the show on, but Vista Home Basic is a very stripped down version of the OS. If you're just going to use it for your show computer, it's probably not an issue, though. Still, $200 is $200.
Personally, I'd check out craigslist or your local newspaper classifieds (or ask a friend) to see if you can get a nice used windows XP machine; it may be a bit cheaper.
My show computer is a Compaq about 8 years old with XP Pro and a Pentium 3 that I got for free from some friends. Works great!

I have vixen loaded on my vista home premium laptop for programming, I use an old XP computer for my show. I don't have an LPT port on my laptop so I do not know if there are any issues running any hardware.
