2008 Setup Progress

Like many of you, I started setting up the day after Halloween...

Just like the board building, it's only when you get into it that you realize just how much there is left to do!!!

I posted some pictures the other day on my site, and just added some more a few minutes ago - Man did I bite off more than I can chew :)

You won't believe this one...

Last Thursday I tell my lawn crew (They come every Thursday) NOT TO CUT THE GRASS anymore this season.

My wife gets home from doing some errand today and guess what???

They are cutting the grass!!! He said he "cut around" the cords...

She calls me and tells me, so I come home and guess what I find???

Luckily the cords are NOT chewed up, but their weed eaters destroyed the lower sections of 2 of my 8 arches!!!

Arrrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!!!

Well looks like you have a crew to help you set up the rest of your Show and to fix what is broken. If they can't follow directions I guess they will need supervision.

They probably came out to cut your grass because of all the rain we have had latlely. I have been here in NC for 6 years and I don't recall the grass growing like this in October - November.

Thanks for keeping us posted. My wife and I can't wait to drop by and see the display.

By the way, do you have any concerns about the communications side of the project. Bandwidth, Baudrate ? Or are you ok with everything?

I don't have any concerns about comm - My big concern is having songs sequenced!

Be sure to bill the lawn crew for those replacement strands. You should tell 'em if they want to mow the lawn they are going to have to do it with hand shears and tender loving care!

It looks like things rae coming along well for you. That is a big Mega Tree, nice arches and the LEDTRIKs sign is going to be awesome up there on the wall! Good work!
