I am building a 12ft wide by 8ft high matrix made out of three matrix panels vertically orientated. The support structure/frame for this will be placed in a grass yard with guy wires so it needs to support the weight of the frame and matrix panels.

I was thinking about just constructing it all out of fencing supplies but figured I would ask here if anyone has gone down this path before and what they did. We do get some wind and a fair amount of snow so it needs to keep the panels up off the ground by a foot or two.

I built a frame from 3/4 PVC. Keeps mine about 1M from the ground. I rebar in the legs to keep them from moving side to side and then guy wires from the top corners to keep it from moving too much in the wind.

Wouldn't PVC sag over 12 feet? How big was your matrix? Do you have pics of it?

I have a vertical leg every meter that goes all the way up. I have found that at 1 meter there is no significant sag.

Posted this pic in another thread, might help. You could do pvc, but at the bottom corners you would most likely need a "T", so you could mount it on the rebar stuck in the ground. Minor mods, this would work.
