Lets keep all the notifications from people that they have received info or a package here. I want to keep the other post closed other than to Jayson for updates.
Post shipping and receiving info here.

A post by Woddy that was in the coop thread which is closed to everyone but Jayson at this time.
Received my request for money yesterday and just received my shipping notice today. Looks like Jason's been working hard to get these out.

I received a PM from Jayson inquiring if my parts have arrived yet. They have not as of 10:44am Tuesday 08/21/07. From the notifications I have received from the USPS and Jayson I should have the parts by later on today or tomorrow. This depends on whether the USPS considers Saturday a business day or not. If they do then I should have the package today, if not then I should have it tomorrow. I will post as soon as possible when the package arrives.
You may be asking what is the point of this post if I have not received my parts yet. Well considering the tone this coop has taken I want everyone to be aware that Jayson is taking a proactive approach and attempting to confirm that we are receiving the parts we ordered and he shipped out to us. He has not just shipped out the boxes and said good riddens, my job is done. He is making sure we receive what we are entitled to.

I keep putting my tracking number in and nothing comes back. Just says it was an electronic request for pickup. This was sent Tuesday August14th and I have not received my parts yet. Hopefully today.

Teberle,
The USPS tracking numbers generated via Paypal shipping are not tracking numbers at all. They are Delivery Confirmation numbers. This means that there will be no update to the number until delivery has been made. All you will get is that the USPS was electronically notified to expect the package for shipping. I do not like the way they do it but thats how they do it.
The benefit to this number is that you now have proof that the package is missing, in the rare event that happens. You can prove it was never delivered.

Or to remain optimistic, can also prove it -was- delivered. ;p

very true, my bad. I was not insinuating that would happen, just I have never had to prove something was delivered but I can see it happening.

Jayson,
Soon as I get them I will post. Like I said earlier the flat rate is a 7 to 10 day delivery so I am at 7 now so should be any day.

I finally had a chance to call me wife from work this evening. The 1st question was whether or not a package arrived for me today. "YUP, its here. It must be something from one of your Christmas buddies!"
My parts have arrived! Let it be known!
Thank You Jayson!

Forgot to mention. Some of you got lucky in that, if you got an Olsen kit (which is bagged seperately of the SSR's) the power LED has tape around it's leads to distinguish it from the channel LED's. However, some will have to look for the one out of 65 LED's that has black leads. Those few unfortunately (wasnt thinking clearly amidst everything) will feel a little bit of my pain of rummaging through all the LED's to find the one that has black leads. :p

jeff.ott and robots4joey please send me a PM with your FULL address (make sure spelling is absolutely correct and don't abbreviate anything).
I just received both of your packages today (both were labeled 8/14).
They're marked incorrect address, but I don't see a damn thing wrong with them and having just been left at my doorstep (something I'm not too pleased about considering for them to have been delivered to you you would have had to sign for them) I couldn't get an explaination.
So lets make sure I have your address again (even if the PayPal is correct, etc. just humor me) and I'll be going to the post office tomorrow with a slight attitude. <grin> Unless of course -something- is wrong with the addresses.

Guys, unless your package is ridiculously late after recieving the shipping "tracking" number (ie. three weeks out) I'm not nor do I have the time to become concerned. I know this sounds bluntly "rude" to some, but considering what I already have in front of me, I'm not going to jump the gun and call USPS. Besides, it takes them 7 business days to "track" or "trace" a package as they call it after calling them and asking them. In -many- (if not all cases) the package will be sitting in front of you before they get back to me, so it's moot.
Remember when I asked all to submit one of these to me?:
Forum Name:
Real Name:
PayPal Email Address (if you paid by PayPal):
Email Address for Email:
Shipping Address (must match that of PayPal confirmed address if applicable):
Shipping Preference (if different from USPS Priority):
This was your opportunity to request something different than USPS. However, let me just say, I defaulted to USPS because of three very good reasons:
1. I rarely -dont- get anything that is sent to me via USPS
2. They provide free boxes (ie. I'd have to charge you whatever the price of the cheapest but correct size box would be if you used FedEx, UPS or DHL)
3. They're the cheapest, even if by just a dollar (combine this with free boxes and it makes them about $5-6 cheaper)
That said, the downside to this is sometimes longer than desired delivery times, especially out of Norfolk, VA with the worlds largest Naval Base (I assume has something to do with it), perhaps they simply dont have their act together, I dont know, but out of approximately 20 cities and 5 states I've lived in Norfolk, VA is probably the slowest in delivery. And their "tracking" is pretty much null void. The number tells you that I created a shipping label and that doesnt get updated until its delivered. Go figure.
This isn't a rant, I understand peoples frustration as I too would love to know -where- the package is (perhaps my own impatientness) but, cant, so live and let live, those are the breaks.
If you received a tracking number, hold tight, the package is coming as many have found out already. If it's of any consellation, once again, I haven't even touched my setup aside from just two days ago ordering parts for a LEDtricks which I seriously doubt I'll have time to get working for this year, no biggie for me though. What I don't like however is that I am not able to get to my engine rebuild which should be done by now, but, those too are the breaks. ;)
So enjoy the parts when you receive them guys and rest assured you WILL receive them of course, as Dan so very nicely took pictures of (and I HOPE he takes videos of in action!).

As well as the participants of the Renard16 will be glad to hear this I'm sure. Your kits will be heading his way wednesday (hopefully depends on the participants). I just wrapped up the re-check of the last Renard16 kit. PayPal MR's will be heading your way, so pay them please ASAP since all kits are in the same box -- you will not be paying me shipping, but rather any remaining balance due to price differences, etc. if applicable for you.
That said.. ho ho ho.. International shipping pricing coming up. Thank you all for the patience.
Edit: err
Hi Jayson,
I just looked in out of curiosity and saw your post.
I haven't seen any PayPal money requests addressed to me.... I think what you mean is that you are requesting money from "my" customers?
Not sure on what that is about.... I'm mostly settled financially with folks, i've requested a couple more bucks from some folks ($3.30 to be exact in most cases, to upgrade to flat rate shipping which is 8.95, from 6.05, plus paypal fees).
I just sent you a private email to your gmail account about how to contact me while I'm out of town from tomorrow until Sept 9th. We would like to track the package and get it off the doorstep ASAP.
Anyway, you have my cell number in the email to you, feel free to call and chat if you like. Big thanks for all your hard work on this.
To all folks watching, obviously I'm not going to be able to ship this stuff out to you until i return on Sept 9th... the stuff will start going out pretty darn fast as Jayson has done all the hard work... I just need to box and print a shipping label (And count properly). If you do NOT require pic's programmed, your stuff is going to go out fast, probably the 10th or 11th. If you paid with Paypal, I will use Paypal to create the shipping label, and you will get an automatic email saying you shipped...
I have attempted to contact every single customer of mine, and i've heard back from all but about 8 people. If you did NOT get an email message from me, you need to PM me with your preferred email address so I can confirm your order and address etc. By getting some of this logistical stuff out of the way now, I can get your boxes out the door much faster.
Thanks all. And big thanks to Jayson for doing all the grunt work to save us all $$$.

So after I received my "Postcard" from the Post Office stating I needed to pick up my package, I drove to the Post Office listed on my card. Strange I thought, 'cause there is a Post Office a lot closer then the one I was driving to. I get there and the guy can't find my package, he suggests it might be at another Post Office even though this Post Office was listed on the card. Needless to say, I drove to the other Post Office and lo and behold the package was there. The guy I talked to to find my package was hesitant and adamant that the package most likely wasn't there. After he found it, he yelled over to one of the other employees, "Hey Randy, ever hear this one!?" So I got my package and now have to figure out how to put this all together. :D This is the first time I've put "Olsen's" together, so I'm a bit of a noob. Thank's Jayson for all of your hard work, everything has arrived in awesome shape!

With Xmus (Dave) returning on the 9th and I making a 800 mile trip this coming Saturday, ALL (internationals as well) kits will be out of my hands hopefully no later than Wednesday. It's been a busy weekend but the final recounts are done and that is that. If there are not the right number of parts in anyones kits I'll be surprised (there is only one to date that does not have all the parts in it for the Olsen kit and thats those 4 little terminal inserts for the power leads - but that person hasnt spoken up yet but once he/she does it will be rectified.
Many are asking, "Will there be another?" In all honesty, I'd love to take advantage of all the new projects that have been and will be released before Feb, which is when I wanted to begin the "next one". MUCH has been learned from this co-op (ie. the stock packaging of the parts, as many have seen, those tubes the MOC's were in... they came in quantities of 65, the Triacs... in quantities of 50, both stock sized tubes of which had to be cut so thats 9500 MOCs AND 9500 Triacs I personally touched to count out it wasnt just a simple cut and tape type of deal) and Ive also already made a webpage (php) which will take peoples "participations" (NOT "orders" as that makes people believe for whatever reason that I am doing this as a business for profit -- that is not and never was the case which I believe I made abundantly clear and many did understand this and I thank you tothose!) and make the spreadsheet for me of how much is owed and how many of what parts need to be ordered.
I have a small "counting scale" already which I used over this weekend to get the "weight" of some small parts (ie. LEDs, capacitors, etc.) that took forever to count out manually (picture, 20,000 total resistors, etc.) and will go super fast with the scale (it was cheap enough so I've already got a backup too incase it farts out on me).
The reason I want to do another? I've been told that our next order would be at a deeper discount.. how much cheaper I do not know and wont until of course the order is placed. But, the cheaper the better. Also, all shipping will be done with UPS but this means that cheap boxes will have to be ordered, which is FINE with me, because then I can get big enough boxes that will accept/hold/fit the full untouched stock sized MOC and Triac tubes so that I do not have to do unnecessary counting and cutting and taping. Anti-static tape is NOT the cheapest tape in the world. Also of course, UPS tracking is superior to USPS tracking, which will eliviate alot of frustration and frankly, PM's on my end.
That said. Thank you to everyone that has been patient with me and believed that I was not a thief. Everyone but one is welcome to participate in the next co-op and that person knows precisely who he is and why. Just putting it out there right now, as I believe he is the epitimy of a member we do not need in this atmosphere which is others helping others in SPIRIT of the Christmas season. The gift of giving and being nice to one another, which everyone (but him) has displayed to everyone including me. I know we hit some frustrating situations, but, in the end, it truly was fun. I learned alot. Oh one very important thing I learned was to not pay attention to the delivery date a distributor tries to estimate, because in the end they're at the mercy of the manufacturer who probably fed them the off dates. So, nothing against Mouser, they're a top company in my mind. I didn't think so initially, but, as there is that picture of the "lot date" of the MOC's, and the "lot date" is the date it was packaged which is typically the same day the parts inside the box (or lot) were manufactured, was June 5th. It's no wonder why I didn't get the order until early July. In short, if the next parts co-op begins in Jan or Feb (as in the order is placed) we'll all know to not expect the parts very soon. ;) This is all pending on what it looks like for me next year. Since had I known the parts wouldnt show until early July, honestly, I wouldn't have done it -- as I knew I would be extremely busy in the middle of July and much of August.
So far, my wife will be shore based all next year (unless something majorly tragic happens like we go to war and even then she'll probably still be on shore duty) so I don't anticipate my time being extremely tight as it is nice this time next year.
Oh and the resistors (they come on a 7,500 quantity spool/disc), Ive made a counter that seems to work really well (it accurately counted 150 of the 750 ohm and 150 of the 180 ohm resistors for robots4joey just two nights ago) so all I have to do is pull the resistors through the counter and bingo, they get counted. Wish I had come up with this awhile ago, it would have saved so much time as well. (ie. leaf switch with a metal roller at the end which when a resistor passed "through" it it lifts the leaf switch up high enough to close the circuit momentarilly which is wired to a cheap LCD counter). :)
As I said, MUCH learned. That all said, sorry for the short novel.. ALL and I mean ALL parts kits will be out of my hands this week. International (Australian and Canadian) participants, again, please be watchful of your email addresses you gave me, your shipping totals will be sent to you no later than Wednesday, if you do NOT get your shipping total Wednesday PM me, reply to this thread, do whatever it takes to ensure I know I missed you for whatever reason. I want these gone and out of my house! this week.. <grin> I look like the USPS with all these boxes around here.

Here are two "teaser" pictures. One is obviously the 595 controller and the other is the SSR. Now this is the first year I've done this style of boards. The board I used last year had a parallel port that plugged to the printer port of my computer. But I'm not 100% sure how to interface this style with my computer. Does anyone know of any good online documentation that explains how to interface the 595 controller with your computer and how to daisy chain the 595's together? I can find documentation on how to solder everything together, but nothing on the actual computer end of things.

Well, It's now 2 weeks pass my personal deadline for having all my hardware built and I have not received my parts yet. At this point anything I have done which include the hardware built from those parts is a wash. I guess the only think I can do is hope they show sometime. And start planning for next yr.

Pete,
Are your parts part of the "combined ship to xmus" lot like mine? I'm still waiting as well. Can anyone else chime in on what they know?
I know this post will likely elicit an "I'm not a thief" and "don't threaten me" tirade from Jayson and the whole thing will likely get deleted, but I need to get information, and Jayson has not responded to my multiple requests for information.
The last post on the subject indicated that Jayson would ship on Aug 29. Then, last week, I (and presumably others) get a request for more shipping money (which I stupidly sent). The message [threat] is that until everyone involved sends money to cover shipping this huge combined package, the parts will not be sent to Dave (xmus).
Jayson - If you're reading this and haven't seen or chose not to read my PM and email, please just send my parts directly to me. I sent more than enough money to cover the shipping of my parts. I'm sure Dave will more than happily send me the PCBs since I've also paid him enough in shipping for those plus all the parts. I'm not going to sit quietly while my parts are held hostage pending the actions of 20 other people.

Rob,
Sorry, in the mix of everything I didnt get a chance to let you know that I have an order for all parts necessary for a 595 being sent from Mouser to you directly. Oooonnnce, I get a tracking number from them I'll try to remember to pass that onto you, yes try to remember <grin>.
To the person that received the extra (still baffled how this happened) please tell me and I'll pay for shipping from you to me. All parts are accounted for and all 70 Olsen kits were put together (counted the parts and the number of bagged kits) so, someone has an extra. ;)

Thanks Jayson, I will post once I receive these parts. I dont want anyone to think this is an underhanded attempt at stealing our money or ruining Christmas for all because I believe it was just a packaging mistake. It was just a mishap which happen to all of us and we are fixing it. I am still very pleased with the parts I have received and look forward to getting the rest. Thanks again for all your hard work and determination to keep all of us happy.

Jayson any time line on my order going out. I'm not in the xmus order and I understood the one post to say the standalone orders had all went out. But I might not be understanding.

Yeah, once I locate the personal check. I PMed you about this I thought or emailed. It didn't clear did it? If so, then there is evidently a problem, as I did not cash/deposit it.

To the Aussies down under. I just learned the FR boxes I have cannot be used for International. I'm going to move the contents of the FR box I was using and place them in the International FR box to first ensure no issues. This will happen tomorrow morning and will not take long to determine if the USPS supplied Interational FR (Flat Rate) box will do or not.
Thank you to Kevin Lang for assisting me in finding out the PayPal rapage fees for Australians (never took an International payment before) and we worked out that $40 would have to be sent. BUT, wait until I confirm tomorrow morning that your (as in every other Aussie that particiapted) parts will fit in the provided box. I don't expect any problems as I cant see the USPS providing a much smaller box though I do anticipate the box being smaller (perhaps I just suffer from US government run agency paranoia).
That said. Canadians stand by, I'll have costs for you tonight, I need to choose a guinea pig for Canadian payments now. :)
Jayson,
Please understand this from my point of view.
You did cash the big check forthe parts. I sent the little check for additional shipping months ago and you didn't cash it. But what influence do I have over this? Was the check bad and bounced? no!
The last Pm's we exchanged ended with you saying for the second times in three months that you would send it out the next day. everyone else seems to have recieved the parts but I am still waiting. I am a paient person and have not been pushy at all even telling you to take care of the people who were panicing first. but Its getting late in the game and I can't really drive up there and take a check to your bank for you to deposit. As far as finding it I don't think I lost it. Not sure the problem on my end. You repeatable have said it was my fault for sending you a check but I have a pm saved from you where I asked and you agree it was ok for me to send you a check. So this is not a attack or anything like it, I just need to be able to have time to build them before thanksgiven and it is getting down to the wire.
JaysonH

Woah, misunderstandings. Yep, the check is lost then.. likley confirmed by the lack of it having been cashed/deposited. This is why I made a SERIOUS request of knowing if it was, because if it was there would be a SERIOUS problem. Mainly, it wasn't -me- that cashed it.
So.. what next? Have a FR priority box here with "RJ" on the front top of it, with no label.

Ya know what. I just wanted to help people from the beginning and want to make you happy RJ. Seriously, PM me your address and lets get this done and over with.

Can anyone tell me if there is a post date on their box please, because, I may have some, hmm, questions for the Dothan PO as to why things were late. Going out on a limb, the barcodes on the labels werent scannable, atleast the ones for the international shipments werent and they were printed on the same slightly outdated inkjet I was forced to use while at my family's house in Alabama. I'm wondering if this is why things didnt go faster. For instance, RavingLunatic, he is literally only 2 1/2 hours away from my family's house I-10 East, his was dropped off on a Monday, it didnt get to him until that Thursday.
I was short one voltage regulator (no biggie because I got ordered 2 Renard16 parts kits so I borrowed from mine to ensure everyone got theirs) and I think I might have mixed a voltage regulator in with someones Triac.
So ensure you look at them, the Triacs have semi-rounded corners (the metal tabs) where as the voltage regulators are square cut corners. But to be safe, definitely look at the part numbers before soldering please, its your parts if you goof!
That said, I have a few emails to get to, I just stepped in from my trip from Alabama back home to Virginia, so those that wrote me while I was enroute back home, I wasnt ignoring you I assure you, but, I'm guessing Dave (Xmas) probably let you guys know I was on the road. If not, well, now you know. ;)

John,
The shipper can request a trace be performed to find out "whats up" with a package, so-to-speak.
I'll run to the PO tomorrow morning (err, later this morning) and ask them to do just that. From previous experience, I know traces can take 7-10 business days by themselves, in the majority of cases the receipient receives the package before the shipper gets the results of such a trace. That or having the trace performed gets someone off their butts, thats just speculation of course. <grin>

Jason,
I have sorted all of my parts except for a few kit bagies for the XMUS parts. So far all of those have been great except for a jumper or two and I have lots of those.
It looks like I am missing 3 tubes of parts
-All 8 pin sockets
-All 14 pin sockets
-All 8 pin chips
I ordered 9 XMUS kits.

Thanks a ton for your effort Jayson!
It must have been one heck of a task to sort through all those parts. I just spent 5 hours going through my parts alone. I can't imagine what you must have spent in time alone. I can see why it took awhile to get it done.
Thanks again!!!!!!

Hi Jayson,
Here is the list of what is missing after a good look see. I did get 4 extra 8 pin sockets but that is all the extras I got. Anyone get any of these extra in your stuff?
(note: I did get 9 diodes but I can't ID them so I'm listing all diodes as missing...so how do you ID these little guys?)
Description, Part Number (Mouser), Shortage
IC Sockets 6P, 571-3902611, -16
Optocouplers DIP-6 NON-ZERO, 512-MOC3023M, -16
Triac, 511-BTA08-400B, -12
RS485 Protection Diode 1, 512-1N5229B_T50A, -9
RS485 Protection Diode 2, 78-1N5239B, -9
5V Reg input diode, 625-1N4001-E3, -9
Fuse holder, 504-1A3399-10, -1
Jumper for debug, 151-8013, -3
Triac R 1 273-178-RC, -2
Counted wrong on the fuse holder. I'm only short 1

You can often read the numbers off the diodes in the right light. They're a little bit small, but they are usually there in my experience.

I'm really not too worried about the Diodes. I looked under a magnifier and couldn't read them. The're cheap so I'm just going to replace them.
My fingers are crossed on the sockets, 3023 chips, and triacs.

18 - 14 pin sockets
8 - 8 pin chips (rs485)

Hey Jayson,
As soon as possible could you let me know if you think there may be a chance that my missing parts are around and could show up? I want to make a Mouser order for the diodes and will re-purchase the other parts if needed. I don't want to pay shipping twice.
By the way, what did happen with the diodes? I got 9 but I don't know which they are. I think no other Xmus guy got any. Each kit should have had I think 27 diodes of three types going from memory.
Thanks

Ok, back in town, was in PA at a cousins house who doenst even have a landline phone (fiance ran off with child to CA where they previously lived just a week after moving to PA the rest is even more messy). So, playing a bit of catch up here.
Michael, if you're missing tubes of IC sockets then they MUST be in with the IC sockets of mine (ie. the remainder which I havent even taken a final count of those), I'll get that straightened out and sent out this week, I'll aslo include the two diodes, as everyone will be receiving them (like it or not!) :p, you guys paid for them, pennies or not, they're yours not mine.
John, as to how I forgot them, good question, wish I knew then it wouldnt have happened. ;) I -think- I was thinking they were for my personal projects, I really dont know but just a guess. I realized they were missing when I broke out my Renard16 parts kits bags, which was the same day Michael said something about them, and then Dave (Xmus) did and then you did.
Anyway, I have padded envelopes already and the diodes seperated and they'll be going out, but I did just want to wait just a few days to see what everyone elses counts were. I'm going to get with Dave (Xmus) to see if there is anything else I can fix before I send them out though, so if you guys have any problems with your orders, please let me or Dave know ASAP.
Your welcome Michael, glad to help.
I still have 10 extra TS7805 5vDC regulators that belong to someone in the parts coop. Please send me a PM if you are missing this item. I'll get them out to you ASAP.
I'm still short the following items:
Short:
1 ea 575-199314 (14 pin socket)
1 ea 27K Resistor
1 ea Jumper
20 Diodes. (not sure which is which)

Hey Jayson,
Thanks for the response. Good news on the diodes. How about extra Triacs, MOC3023 chips, and sockets? Any chance someone got extra? These add up to a few bucks.
Thanks

By the way, do you know what the ID is for the one pack of 9 diodes I got? I can't read them even magnified. They are the tiny 485 protection diodes but I don't know which one they are.

Hi Jayson,
I'm not formally producing a report, what we did was just exchange some private emails, and do some part swapping to even the distribution of parts (robin hood of sorts). And now that some time has gone by, and most folks have received and sorted their parts, I've instructed them to contact you if they were missing anything expensive (Triacs, Opto-Triacs, etc). I know of two people who meet this description, have they contacted you? And Sandy hasn't received anything at this point.... So I _THINK_ those three people are the only ones to resolve. I've asked people not to bug you about small things like the diodes and resistors and such, that stuff is so cheap....
Thanks,
Dave
