Only 18 days left of the pre-sale. Now is the time to get your Mean Well power supplies at prices no other vendor can beat. Here are the current order statistics.

Model

LRS-75-5
5.00%

LRS-75-12
0.71%

LRS-150-12
2.14%

LRS-350-5
5.00%

LRS-350-12
85.00%

LRS-350-24
2.14%

LRS-350-36
0.00%

Unless things change based on these stats I may not keep the LRS-75, LRS-150 or LRS-350-36 as a regular stock item. So if you are on the fence about getting those now is the time.

After February 19th prices go back up. In 3 days I will start packing up orders out of currently available stock and will start finalizing orders from my vendors for what has been sold during the pre-sale. Everyone should have their orders no later than March 19th but many will receive them well before that.

why are the MeanWell series such good power supplies? Fairly new RGB'er

They are the standard everyone else copies. You never, ever hear about a meanwell failure, and if you did, it did not take your pixels with it.

That is a pretty good summary. The series I sell does come from with a 3-yr manufacturer warranty.

As a two decade+ professional sysadmin, I've learned you don't skimp on power supplies. A quality power supply will last longer, be more efficient, and cause less random issues.

I suspect it's "down" not because it's broken, but to stop people from placing more presale orders. I also suspect he has to go through every product listing and edit it back to non presale pricing. Which could be labor intensive.

Site is back up. Assuming you bought http://www.diyledexpress.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=42_44&products_id=267

Unfortunately he does not list any technical details.

If we are to guess 2.268 amps / 27 Watts @ 12v DC per 50 nodes. 1300 will need about 59 amps for all white at 100% power

LRS-350-12 is rated at 29a. If we use the general rule of you should not load your PS at 100% but at 80% so that's 23-24a per PS so technically would have to have 3 power supplies. That would cover you for sure. Could you use 2 sure if you factor in you won't always run all white at the same time and then you also don't have to have your lights at 100% they are plenty bright if you run them even at 70% I actually ran my at 40% before and I was happy with it.

As far as my actual recommendation I would use 3 power supplies. Also remember you can not connect the power supplies together when you do power injection they +V must be separate you only need to make sure the -V are connected.

Quick Question:

If I were to just supply my Falcon F16v3 with power and not the pixels. What power supply do you offer that I would need just to power both sides of the Falcon.

(I plan to inject power into my lights through a separate 350W PS)

Now that's a really good question probably something Dave Pitts would need to answer as I'm not sure. I would think it would not be very big but probably depends on the number of pixels you would be driving as it needs power for the data but can't that it needs much. I sent a FB message to him to see what he says.

The smallest supply that MrSmoofy has on sale is 75watt which should be more than enough to power just the controller itself. The Falcon controller has an on-board regulator so you can use either of the 5v or 12v 75 watt meanwells

edit:
I just did a quick check of my F16V2 controllers with no pixels attached and it consumes around 5-6 watts. The V3 is probably a little higher but should still be well under the smallest 75 watt supply from MrSmoofy

Good News/Bad News

Power supplies have started to arrive I was able to ship out some orders a couple of weeks ago. The bulk of the power supplies arrived today with the rest to arrive next week.

This is the good news.

Now for the bad news. While I had planned on shipping out all order before the 19th, I've been admitted to the hospital and will be here a few days. I still hope to have orders shipped by 3/19 but depending how things go over the next several days there could be a slight delay on any of the orders that were placed the last few days of the presale.

As of today, 99% of you should have received your pre-order. If you have any questions or problems please email me at cward@holiday.lighting so I can address them.

There are just a couple left to be delivered. Those in Canada and a couple that notices were left for you to pick up your shipment.

Thank you everyone for your patience with me getting these all shipped out, if you could have seen me at the post office with one of their very large rolling carts filled to the top and me trying to push it up the ramp with my in my special shoe I have to wear you would have had a chuckle.

I estimate over 500 lbs of power supplies were shipped during this pre-sale. It's everyone's purchases together that make it possible to get quality power supplies at below market prices and I'm happy I'm able to do this and give back to a community that has been too helpful to myself and everyone else that has a love for Holiday Lighting.
