Folks,

I've posted that I've been working on a Network trigger because I couldn't get flowblocks to work.

I've got a different network trigger + client app to work this evening. I'll post it if there's any interest.

Thanks for the interest, wJohn.

My goal was to be able to utilize two PCs, one runnig the show, the other running Triks.

I've found that it's taxing on one PC to handle both the show and the Triks.

Since I've got several older PCs, I wanted to separate the load.

I was intrigued by flowblocks post on his network trigger, but I couldn't get it to work, and upon questioning, flowblock vaporwared on me.....(And there wasn't a client anyway)

So, I made my own. On the PC running the Triks, it's a Vixen Trigger. (Actually, its a server listening for requests, under Vixen)

The Client is a Command executable on the computer running the show. The Vixen launcher on the show computer can execute the client to trigger the desired event on the Triks computer.

(I hope this isn't confusing. Please question if it is...)

I had both PCs (show & triks) setup to run independantly snyched to the clock. I wasn't totally happy with this set up as PC clocks drift.

With these tools, I can let the show computer tell the Triks computer when to act, thus gaining flexibility in how shows are played.

KC helped in a couple of ways to make this possible. First, he modified the trigger.dll to allow execution of Triks sequences and scripts from a trigger response. Second, he found a bug in the editor that interprets the trigger request. Without his help, I'd still be be dead in the water.

I'm not sure if the new trigger.dll has been made part of the updates, but I'll post the one I have in the interim if there's any interest.

(Sorry for the long post....)

Bob, sounds great.

I'll be able to test your configuration this week and see what happens Down Under.

Let me know what I'll need (new trigger. dll etc) and I'll get the PCs setup.

Hopefully i can follow you lead, and we can get this documented for others to try.

I've been testing it further this evening. I've got the Triks scripts now properly tiimed for all the individual songs that make up my two shows. I'm currently running show #1 to test all together.

It's late. After this, it's bed time. I'll post the pieces and instructions tomorrow when I'm more alert....
