Found this today. Looks fairly straight forward, and inexpensive...best part, its 2mW.

Looks rather easy,
my question would be is what type of range would you expect?

Ben it looks as if the range might be short. 50 feet or a little better. You might want to find a way to mount this in something near the street. Maybe a tune to sign.

In my first post I mentioned its 2mW. I'm not sure how the guy had his configured he also mentioned he used a short antenna. So as far as range goes its equal or greater than transmitters on ebay.

Hey Ben,
I read your 1st post and am not knocking your find. I do think this is a great little circuit for its size, but unless I'm mistaken, the vastelec transmitters you're comparing it to are 200mw not 2.
