One of the problems with the cc site is that there is effectively one forum. Virtually all messages are posted into the lighting category, and the other categories are almost never used. At the moment this site has around 20 forums, and I suspect that this will grow by quite a bit (after all, there are a lot of projects that have barely been mentioned so far, and there are a whole lot of regions other than Philly).

Does anyone else see this is a concern, or not? If it is a concern (because the front page becomes too long, takes too long to scan, etc), I don't know if there is any real solution, but just wanted to bring it out at an early stage (this is one of the scalability concerns that I mentioned in another thread).

Doesn't PlanetChristmas have a huge number of forums?

I don't think it should be expanded any more than this, but it is much better than lumping everything together in one forum. And it it still faster to scan one huge site than three or four smaller sites.

EDIT: See this: http://www.christmasinshirley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51

would it be practical to setup each section tobe expandable/collapsible to condense the listing. or maybe some kind of dropdown list showing the post catalogues under each heading :?: I know that would probably be alot of work, Sorry Brian  ....

Sub-Forums have been added to ease some of the main index page congestion. I think this will alleviate everyones concerns.

Thanks for the suggestions.
