I have been looking everywhere to find out the answer.
We want to build some "gift" boxes that look like presents, in our front
yard. We plan on putting the controller enclosures inside them to hide them from view.
Don't want to use chicken wire because of the possible Faraday effect with the controllers
being wireless.
What is the fabric that is used on outdoor wire-frames called? I have searched on-line everywhere
trying to find some on a roll. It is just stretchy weather resistant sometimes sparkly fabric.
Does anyone know what it is called !!!???

it reminds me of tinsel... another option is to make boxes out of coro. then you could even put a few lights in them and wrap with a ribbon.

I made some a long time ago (pre rgb) with thrift store sheets, dyed them stapled them to a 1 x 1 wood frame then covered the sheets with epoxy.
you could try lycra, transparent spandex type cloth.

Here's what we've come up with to hide 2 of our controllers that will be in the front yard for our Spiral Tree.
These are plastic shipping box's we bought at Home Depot. Then cut a piece of 1/2" plywood so it would lay in the bottom of the box.
Then, from the back side of the box, we screwed the plywood to the inside. Then the controllers are each mounted to the plywood. We built two box's, one for each controller.
Cut a whole in each folding door for the extension, and eithernet cords.
Then drilled holes for 2, "U" bolts to secure the box's. We will drive green T post in the ground, then the "U" bolts will fasten to the T post.
When these go outside, we found (at walmart) plastic bags that are decorated like gift wrapping. The plastic bags will cover the controller box's, and look like gift wrapped presents!3452134522345233452434525

This link may get you started in the direction you want to go. Once you open the link go down to "PVC & Coro" a powerpoint presentation will down load, go to slide ~34 and you will see some directions on how they built theirs. Also there is some nice ideas that can be gleaned from this website.

Amigorick, you might want to get some inexpensive shower curtains and cut them up to use for your boxes. You can get other ideas here: http://blog.christmaslightsetc.com/diy/diy-lighted-christmas-presents/

Even better, how about something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Green-Polka-Christmas-Plastic-Tablecloth/dp/B00EZTGUVU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479174361&sr=8-1&keywords=plastic+christmas+tablecloth

If you're thinking something like this: http://www.whatroseknows.com/11-5-2013/DIY-Outdoor-Lighted-Holiday-Gift-Boxes-/

Google "Decorative Mesh Ribbon" :spox:

Edit: comes in 36 inch width

DGN, is that mesh ribbon waterproof? It's hard to tell if it is an actual mesh that would let water through

My guess is that it would allow water through it, so the controller and such would have to be in a waterproof enclosure.
I was looking around for this type of covering when I was planning to make my own reindeer and drums using pvc rod.

These are my presents to left and right of snoopy. They are frames made from wood similar to the yard stakes at lowes then wrapped with lights and deco mesh to cover them up. Throw a large bow on to top it off.

Seen some made with coro. You eliminate the metal frame too.

What about Neoprene fabric might work. Think scuba suite

Hehe :) A scuba suite. I presume those rooms have extra deep bathtubs?

Hey Amigorick,

Are you talking about sheer fabric - some shower curtains are also made of this and it's waterproof.
There's also something called decorative mesh ribbon (http://www.samsclub.com/sams/mesh-ribbon/prod20297738.ip?xid=plp:product:1:1) available at Sam's Club.
