as some of you may know i recently moved. Well im now getting going on my display again and when i went to hook my GRINCH back up i could not remember which is my +5 side of my power plug.

not sure but i think if i hook it up wrong i will let the smoke out (very bad thing).

so my question is two fold:

im steeling power from th ecomputer itself and im connected to a black and red wire inside the computer---- can someone tell me which is the + color?

OR

can i use a meter and check for +5DC volts and if so where do i put the leads (one will go in one side of the power cord and wherer to i put the other??)

thank you so much for any help,
Scott

The black will be the ground, and the red will be the +5v. Here is an excellent site on any questions you may have on the pc power outputs. http://www.smpspowersupply.com/connectors-pinouts.html
