I will be leading this one so if anyone has any questions, let me know.

Brian,
This was originally on the Vixen Forum and was for LED with the LEDTriks boards in mind.
Zane,
Based on your last post
I would like to see if i can get a really good deal on LED's so if someone wanted the 768 to make a LED tricks screen, they could pend like $5 plus a few for shipping.
I would be interested if you are talking about 800 LEDs for 5 + shipping
If you can really get 800 LEDS for $5, I'd certainly be interested.

No kidding, I think I’d even go for 1600.:D
Hay, maybe that large screen video is not so far off. :P
Well...i know my thoughs were a lttle low for the price. If we can find it, i will let you guys know, but i still have to get a respose from some LED manufacture.
I message BestHongKong about the time of the first post and still have yet to get any response. :(

for that price you could count me in for (4) sets.
Think big and have a have a spare just in case.

ForLEDTRIKS, I have purchased a bag of 1000 LEDs from www.besthongkong.com. The price was $19.99 plus shipping. The Part / Model: BURC333W20BA04, 333 5mm Ultra Red Series LED .
They also sell a handheld tester for LEDs for $9.99.This is a great way to test the LEDs BEFORE installing them into the panel.

100 LED for 1.50 so 800 would be 12.00 Bucks but you might be able to get them cheaper.
Thanks

I second wjohn's noted about the hongkong imports. I bought 3000 from there with the cost INCLUDING shipping at $0.03 each. No where has been able to beat that!
no they are not. I have pritty much given up trying to find a supplyer for the leds. the cheapest ones that i could find were 3mm at $10 for 1000 with at 1000mcd from BHK.
on second thought. i remembered about my secret supplyer. Ill keep looking guys. Ill see what i can find.

I don't know I just know they are pretty cheap. I don't think they are considered ultra bright so they might not be.
they are under 100 mcd. the ones that i am looking at from china are 5000 mcd+; even up to 20,000mcd i think i saw.
I sent out requests for information to about 7 different manufactures. Now it is a waiting game to see who has the cheapest and brightest LED's

Heres a fella i have used who is on ebay, these are prices he quoted me for shipping to Aussie
Dear Sir,
Thanks a lot for your letter.
Here is the price list.
2500 5mm Ultra Bright Red --- US$ 62.5
2500 5mm Ultra Bright Blue --- US$ 75
2500 5mm Ultra Bright Yellow --- US$ 62.5
2500 5mm Ultra Bright Green --- US$ 100
2500 5mm Ultra Bright Violet --- US$ 100
2500 5mm Ultra Bright White --- US$ 100
The shipping cost would be $25 for the first 2500 LEDs, add $12 for each additional 2500 ones.
So if you order all of these LEDs, the shipping cost would be $85.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Best wishes.
