this is going to be my second year for my light show and I want to switch from those loud mechanical relays to SSR's but I also want to add a fading effect. Are there SSR's out there that will do this effect using vixen and if not what is the best way to get this effect

What Controller(s) are you currently using? Most SSRs support Fading, but does your controller?

I'm using sainsmart relays that are mechanical 3 boards of 16 relays

Driven by a pi or a arduino or ?
If you are not enamored of the sainsmart, run a renard controller.

Yes it sounds like you will need to switch to another type of Controller, Renard Controllers will support what your current relays control and give you fading capabilities.
There are the Renard SS (http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?22450-SS-Renard-Kits-Now-Available-(current-4-7-16)&highlight=ss24) series sold by WayneJ
There is the Series that you can purchase through Radiant Holidays (http://www.renard-plus.com/)
DIGWDF (http://digwdf.com/store/) has several different Renard boards also.
and there are many others. You will need to determine what is the best fit for you.
