i am new here, but have been "play around" with DMX for a while.

I have published a couple of AVR base DMX projects that may be useful to some.

I have also made a number of RGB flood lights base on generic rectanglular 500W spot light housing.
I have share that when I get some photos. These work beautifully with the RGB LED Dimmer.

Matt,

great to see your projects, I am interested to see how ppl implement their designs.

John,
It is indeed good to show of things you design and build.
Attached is progress of my DC switch - 32ch LED PWM (expandable to 64ch).
I am planning a similar case using the SSR PWBs you send (actually they will be housed in an old UPS.

Once I have finished the code development I will be releasing this 16ch design. The next design will not have switches.

This year I am planing 70 to 80 DMX channels, set to music but not broadcast.
Cheers
Matt

Matt,

great work. I liked the re-use of the PC case (very green) and the row of LEDs soldered to the DMX boards.

I am sure we will learn a lot from your efforts and designs.

Matt,

I've downloaded your projects for review, and have to say, I'm a glad to see someone here using AVRs since they have always been my microcontroller of choice (the 2313 was even my favorite AVR. I know nothing about PICs and don't look forward to learning a new architecture, but have resigned myself to do so. A lot of this is over my head. I'm looking for a good block diagram showing what is needed to start with a DMX dongle and end up with a safe dimming set of bulbs. So I'm really hoping your projects blossom. I'd like to design something eventually like the Lynx Express, but it's probably way beyond my reach.

Good luck with it all.
