There just was a coop for SSR's, so no telling when there might be another and there doesn't seem to be as much interest in 595's every seems one wants to go with dimming boards.
On the other hand the Grinch board is a lower cost/parts count board (considered to be the next evolution of the 595) that I believe wjohn has available. He (wjohn) also has had stocks of SSR boards. I have bought both from him and was very happy with what he supplied.
Look in the Grinch Forum.

wjohn probably still has Grinch (low cost alternative to OLSEN 595) and SSR boards available. He has a pic of the boards in this thread:

OR
You could get in on the Renard 64 coop that is being put together right now. The Renard 64 would give the same number of channels as the coop OLSEN 595 but also would give you dimming capability. The thread is at:

I could be wrong but I think Jody has the PCB boards and is looking for the parts to populate them.
I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say I doubt there will be another parts coop anytime soon.
However, I could be wrong on both these statements...

Jody,
If you are looking for a parts coop then I would think you are out of luck. Based on what is happening with the current parts coop, I don't think anybody will ever take on the task of running a parts coop again.

I just do PCBs ;-) Not getting involved in parts! My suggestion, buy from Mouser/Futurlec/Digikey or that place Matt likes.

Yes, I think you are correct he did say "parts" in the body of the post. And I do not think you are going out on a limb.
On the other hand using this post as a guide I think you could cut the cost of your SSR parts significantly. http://www.christmasinshirley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=419

Heh... after all the drama involved on the last parts coop, I'd doubt there will be a seond one anytime soon.
If you're going to order the parts, just do it. And I'd try to get them from one place. If I hadn't already screwed my self by ordering from Jameco and Mouser, I'd have gotten all parts from Mouser. I don't think I saved enough money in parts cost to make up for having to pay two shipping fees.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a parts coop for ssr's and olsen 595's?
There are 50 unfused ssr parts kits seemingly available from jaysonh since he says he is not going to ship any to me but will sell them to others. Please contact him.

Joe,
Lets not confuse the situation. What you said is you felt I was a thief and that you "believe you would never see your parts."
Please don't mislead others into thinking I denied selling your parts. And your money for the parts will be paid once I have received a paypal email address (of which I have -yet- to receive).
With all the parts kits being delivered you still think your SSR parts are "purported", funny. Jeffmill is happily enjoying the parts that were assigned to you, the parts you feel were non-existant.
It's one thing for someone to PM me and outright call me a thief, its another thing for them to post publically lies and misleadings that I said I wouldn't deliver them to someone. Keep the slander up and see where it lands you my friend.

I have had it with the delays and do not believe that I will be getting the parts I had ordered from you.
I want my money back. I do not trust that you can deliver my parts. You've cashed my check in March for $225, you "claim" to have received all of the parts by June, yet I see nothing, only empty promises that you're "working on it". Your photos of boxes of parts are irrelevant, they could be photos of anyone's parts.
The amounts for the SSRs was posted as being: "Unfused" SSR's = $4.50 each for parts only (no PCB) before shipping, PayPal fees (if applicable for you),etc, etc. This is a savings of $3.41 each, versus ordering individual (ie. on your own).
After ordering you mentioned on March 9th that some prices had gone up and that the cost of the SSR board parts would be a wopping $4.55. This was no big deal to me. A nickel a board parts set increase is trivial.
Your posts to the forums were filled with excuses as to why you can't get the job done, one valid one being the delay from the alledged supplier of the parts (Mouser). However, the excuses such as "the post office sent me the wrong boxes", "my car is too small", etc., fall on deaf ears here. I had PRIMARY custody of two teenagers after my divorce years back. I know how to juggle work, parental duty, hobbies, etc., your posts of having to take care of your kid since your wife is out to sea, well maybe taking orders for 65,000 parts was too much to handle, I know it would be a lot for me to do.
I waited a week for this after asking one of the moderators of this board for ideas, he suggested waiting the week. Well, I still see no parts, no request for shipping money, nothing.
I've PM'd others who are requesting SSR parts coops on the forums that I "might" be cancelling my order and telling them that the parts can be ordered through you, and basically have the 50 SSRs parts accounted for. They can put their trust in you that somehow someday you'll deliver the parts. Me, I don't trust that you'll ever deliver the parts to me that I paid for. Please accept $5.00 (five dollars) for your trouble in sending me back my money, and collecting the money from those who might put their trust in you.
I have an obligation to someone to populate 20 of those boards and have them delivered by Labor Day. Back in Feburary this seemed like a reasonable time request for me. Your delays do not absolve ME of my obligations, I have ordered parts elsewhere and they will be here tuesday.

This board has suffered enough with arguments back and forth about the parts coop. I am locking this thread so we do not get into anything ugly again. Whats done is done and lets move on in life.
