I'm having an issue with the scrolling timing bar when using the waveform tool.
During any time where there is no Blinky-flashy, the bar works as expected. Once the blinky starts the bar disappears.
I upgraded from 2.5 (because of this problem), to 2.0.8. It does it too.

I guess from the lack of responces compared to views of this thread, I am the only one having this problem....ummm:confused:
Is it possible to go backward to say v. 2.0 and retain my current profile and seguences, to see if the problem goes away?

I'm not sure if this is related to the time bar issue or not but,
the "beat" track does not work properly either.
I made a beat track using the "new sequence wizard". Every thing looks correct, and is aligned with the waveform, so the timing should be right.
When I play it back using picture viewer, the light timing is not correct at all. It will be right on for a few beats then skip several beats, then be off beat for several beats. Then finally catch up and be on beat again.
The music is a consistent 2 beats/sec. I've tried 25mS, 50mS and 100mS. Output plug-ins are Olsen 595, EnTec Pro, and picture viewer. Using same laptop as last year.
Last year I used Vixen 1.1. Did not have this problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

can you give give some more information please.
with my 100% cpu problem i am finding that the line that scrolls left to right over the sequence comes and goes and is erratic. is this what you are seeing or is it just not there at all when you start the sequence.
also maybe check your cpu usage and see what it is as well while running the sequence

while you are watching all this, is the adjustable preview running but minimized? If so, turn off that plug in and try it, it could be the picture file is too large.

Yes. Its the red line that scrolls during play back. The line is there and works fine as long as there are no lights flashing.

Wayne,
The adjustable preview is running and not minimized, just moved down so I can see the waveform and preview window.
I do have a large picture file in the preview window. I'll try turning off the preview and see what happens.
Thanks,
Brad

I don't know if this will help, but I encountered a lag after I put together a scheduled program of sequences on the computer I picked to be the show computer. Originally, the sequences were fine alone in the preview and I lost the tracking bar during play back , but when I added the Renard plug in (and disabled the preview), the program showed a lag of lights to music.
My solultion was to use another computer with a light more power. The original computer processor could not keep up. My current computer has a faster processor and more memory. I know have no lag and the tracking bar doesn't go away.
There are a lot of graphics going on the screen and if you are using a dimming plug in, your using a lot of processor to send the dimming packets.

Wayne,
I detached my sequence from the profile then turned off the adjustable preview. You nailed it....now the "time bar" as I call it...works throughout the sequence.
One problem solved. A new challenge to overcome. How to use the pictures I have of the house. I can't take new one this time of year, there are too many leaves on the trees.
Thanks Wayne, denesci, scorpia for your input. I was really getting frustrated.

Try using less resolution on the photos. Today's cameras take some pretty big file sizes 2-3 MB easily at a high resolution. If you already have the photos, try saving down. You'll loose some detail, but you will still be able to see the house. Most of the details would be lost when it is dark outside and the lights are on anyway.
If you don't have a program to save down, send it to me and I can give it a shot.

deplanche,
Yes It is a 3Mb (or rather M pixel) so it's large. I May take you up on the offer. I'll see if I can do anything with it tonight.
Thanks,
Brad

You can send the picture to me and I will resize it for you and then after you load it into vixen you need to click the 'reset to picture size'.
I had this very same issue last year. ;)

Hi,
I know you were talking about this a while ago, and Brad's problem seems to be fixed, but I am now having a very similar issue. My picture is only 58.4 Kb - it is a hand drawn outline of the house rather than a picture, since my house is on a corner and I wanted to see both sides - so it would seem unlikely that this is the problem.
The 'timing bar' scrolls, but jumps about a second at a time, which makes it very difficult to line things up nicely.
does anyone have any other hints as to how to fix this?
